Live dub // bass, machines, tenor sax

Uptown Rebel défend une version moderne et énergique du dub insufflée par la scène anglaise. Le set du groupe peut basculer d’un morceau chanté rappelant les racines jamaïcaines vers une version dub robotique où l’utilisation des effets est omniprésente. Et c’est avec la volonté de recréer sur scène une musique habituellement créée en studio que Uptown Rebel construit et déconstruit ses morceaux sans barrière et sans limite pour offrir à chaque concert un set unique.

Après plusieurs expériences musicales partagées ensemble dans divers groupes, ces trois amateurs de reggae et de musiques électroniques avaient depuis quelques années l’envie de monter un projet dub. C’est au cours d’une nuit de création au studio de Manutension (ex-guitariste et machiniste des Improvisators Dub) que Uptown Rebel est né (2009).

Incorporating elements of uplifting dub and global bass, Living Light’s productions sweep listeners on intricate musical journeys aimed at enchanting the soul. She has toured extensively as both a solo artist and live band keyboardist, and has been a multi-faceted presence in the global festival scene for over a decade. Living Light's 7th album drops late fall 2025, with her previous albums featuring collaborations with Simon Posford (Shpongle), Gabriel Le Mar (The Saafi Brothers), and Chris Barker (Ott & The All-Seeing I), as well as a remix album featuring Kaya Project, Gaudi, Liquid Bloom, Globular, and numerous other producers from around the world.
Having graced the stages of events such as Ozora Festival (Hungary), Shankra Festival (Switzerland), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Cosmic Convergence (Guatemala), Tribal Gathering (Panama), Psy-Fi (Netherlands), Eclipse Festival (Canada), Spirit of Suwannee (FL), Sonic Bloom (CO), Oregon Eclipse (OR), Burning Man (NV), Lucidity (CO), Infrasound (WC), and Arise (CO), and with appearances on some of the world’s most esteemed psychedelic labels, including Desert Tax, Merkaba Music, Sofa Beats, and Liquid Sound Design, Living Light has developed a sound that transcends any singular locale and which offers listeners a truly global experience regardless of the ground on which they stand.
