An iconic name within the electronic music industry, Jamie Stevens has been a renowned figure for over two decades, now making his Proportion debut with the “Crosses / Vale” EP. Through a refined and meticulous approach to his craft, the Australian artist has been the recipient of two ARIA awards with his live act, Infusion, before a solo career saw him become and esteemed and iconic figure within the underground dance fraternity.

From performances at Tokyo’s Womb, London’s Fabric and greeted with rapturous audiences in New York, Singapore and Moscow, Stevens has also found himself a regular performer in his Melbourne hometown and across Australia’s East and West coasts. Contemporaneously, a production career has seen almost 400 credits find their way onto a stellar cast of imprints that include Dave Seaman’s Selador, Guy J’s Lost & Found and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Always at the cutting edge of modern progressive house, the “Crosses” title track is a flowing rhythmic jewel that rolls effortlessly forward with its combination of strong beat and chunky percussive top-line. A huge sub-bassline adds depth aplenty as immaculately syncopated riffs and intricate effects blend seamlessly together. A stripped back breakdown provides a pause for breath and melodies to shine, before the third movement continues the relentless club groove and dynamic dancefloor knowhow.

A single remix comes from Tantum. A “forward-thinking” artist who operates within the constantly shifting borders between progressive house and melodic techno, the German producer has quickly risen to dine at dance music’s top table with a half-century of credits notched up since 2018’s impressive debut for EIN2. Music signed to Lowbit, Mango Alley and Lost & Found have since followed, not least in the twin-track “Call of the Void / Fixity” EP for the Guy J led imprint in September 2021. Making his Proportion debut, the Tantum remix takes “Crosses” in a deep and dark direction with is growling mass of effects and heavy bassline groove. Further gravitas is maintained with intelligent use of Jamie Stevens’ original components which form a metronomic backdrop, while a newly formed cadence creates a sublime dancefloor interpretation that blends seamlessly with new motifs and melodic phrasing from Tantum’s sizeable production credentials. The result is a stunning new version that resonates with the original while taking it on a magical new voyage of discovery.

As Jamie Stevens crosses dance music’s rubicon, he once again forges a path to a bold new sonic future.

Established six years ago, the beloved various artists showcase continues to search the globe for the freshest new talent that the electronic underground has to offer, featuring a cohesive blend of progressive and melodic techno styles. SIX: Stage-24 continues that ethos featuring exclusive new music from: Foreign Movies, Gándara (AR), Mindlancholic, Luciano Pelliza & Ger Nogueira, JP Mantero and BNogart. Making his label debut with selection one is British artist Julian Peake aka Foreign Movies. Beloved for his releases via Global Underground and Nick Warrens The Soundgarden, the London residents latest Your Life sets the tone for the release with chunky grooves and whimsical qualities that should appeal to a broad range of house DJs. Making his label debut is Gándara (AR) who provides selection two A Carousel. The Argentinean talent comes off a well-received EP for South America Avenue with a dark edgy progressive cut that is sure to light up dancefloors with its stomped out kick drums, sharp design qualities and vibrant chord stabs, the latter of which provides an epic finale. Also making his label debut with selection three Travellers is Peruvian artist Edú Castañeda a.k.a Mindlancholic. Best known for his releases via Freegrant Music, Progressive House Argentina and Transensations, the Barcelona resident delivers a smooth uplifting progressive house creation thats nicely geared for the morning hours. The collections halfway point welcomes Luciano Pelliza & Ger Nogueira following projects for Droid9 and Or Two Strangers. The Argentinean duo land on SLC-6 presenting their first collaborative project Smoke Sellers, a groovy progressive track that impresses with its driving basslines, squelchy effects and vibrant melodic topline. Staying in Argentina, JP Mantero makes his SLC-6 debut with the hypnotic sounds of Epiphany. The Rosario resident delivers one of his most engaging creations to date, with dreamy vocal elements setting a canopy for charged beats, radiant textures and mystical melodic fragments to work their magic. The EP concludes with BNogart making his label debut with Synthient City, a track which marks his first ever release. The Irish artist gets his production career off to a strong start with nostalgic arps, buzzing chord stabs and a captivating spoken word vocal which is sure to leave a memorable impression on the dancefloor.

When we talk about Progressive we immediately think of evolution, development, change, transformation, inherent stages of existence itself. Nature V.A is these concept’s audible interpretation from a musical perspective. 

Ginger Mercury starts. Written by Arnold T and Alain Pauwels, novel producers from France and Belgium respectively, this fine piece counts right away with the great Hernan Cattaneo´s support on Resident 447. Ginger Mercury opens doors to a liberating and optimistic experience in the presence of the cautious sequence’s work, arpeggios and slight pads, added to an angelical voice plus warm basses. 

A trip of total positivism. In charge of the second original, the well-known French DJ Producer Christian Monique dazzles with Rain Spirit, a track that transcends the earthy. Deep feeling, celestial vocal and wisely structured atmospheres, are some of this composition´s factors that entraps you at once. Like a whisper, sound´s textures ship us on a journey to the essential. Christian doesn’t mistake. 

In collaboration, Dylan Deck and Shanil Alox gather talent for this VA´s third delivery. Right from Malta and Sri Lanka, Malgudi is the piece that arrives from these artist´s creation. With detailed percussion and admirable groove in perfect synchrony with Nature´s flow, this track is the connector between the physical and the spiritual world. Perfect club´s material to rise the frequency and connect with the spiral. 

From Brazil, Andre Moret comes to give a luxury closure to this launching. Aruanda, this talented artist´s original piece, harmonizes the experience´s culmination placing itself in the vibrating neutrality without losing the conceptual path. The meticulous melodic elaboration and the structural coolness establish a travel´s summary and maybe a purpose to continue it as well.
