Longtime followers of Mark Henes know that he has a habit of shifting eﬀortlessly from punk to country and back. On his foreboding new single, he fully embraces the former, with thrashing electric guitars backing up his signature booming baritone to create an energetic anthem for the end of times.

“Nostradamus is upon us, and what do you think will come?” Henes sings in the songs opening lines. It’s pretty clear that the future looks bleak from his perspective, but rather than wallow in pity, Mark uses his lyrical gifts to find reason for celebration in the face of hopelessness. The intricate guitar play and thundering drums provide listeners with a much needed sense of catharsis for the chaotic times we’re living in.

As he prepares the release of his debut full length album ‘Crystallized Reflections,’ it is clear that Mark is not content to be pigeon holed into just one sound. If this single is any indication, he is ready for a long and unpredictable career.
