The new album out now: 'I Inside the Old Year Dying'

The Bottle Kids is a side project of Singer/Songwriter Guitarist Eric Blakely. It was a dream of his as a young artist to record an album playing all the instruments himself since learning that McCartney and Stevie wonder had played most if not all the instruments on certain albums. 
Blakely cut his teeth in the late 70’s early 80’s in the San Francisco Bay Area Rock scene.
Local heroes the Rubinoos were a huge influence on the impressionable young aspiring artist. Their astounding live harmonies, catchy tunes, well crafted guitar solos and sense of humor left a lasting mark on Blakely’s writing and playing.
The Keystone Berkeley nightclub, now sadly gone was a goldmine of great shows that left a big impression on Blakely. 
The Knack, The Plimsouls, Dwight Twilley, The Rubinoos and  Bram Tchaikovsky all passed through the gates of The Keystone. It was an exciting time. Punk had just started to merge with Pop Rock and the result was Power Pop. A genre that only enjoyed a brief period as a genuine category. Many bands that followed have been heavily influenced by the genre. Fountains Of Wayne, Pop Punk Heros Green Day and The Donnas to name a few.
After recording and touring with Paul Collins’ whose first album is considered a Power Pop classic Blakely realized it was time to tap back into that well of inspiration and write and record an album inspired by his youth. What started off as a one off ending up becoming two albums, Such A Thrill and Let Me In On This Action.
Blakely continues to release music under his own name and is considering a possible third album.

ROCK - INDIE ROCK - VELVET ROCK - ALTERNATIVE
Founded by guitarist Sylvain Laforge and New York singer Angela Randall, "LUX", now LUX the band, is joined by Julien Boisseau on bass and Amaury Blanchard on drums.  Their self-described "Velvet Rock" is a mix of American and Brit rock and alt-folk made of elegant lyrics, unique vocals and consistently stellar guitar work.  Their first album "SUPER 8" was  re-released with new songs in June 2019. The second album, GRAVITY was released on 9 December 2022.  The band has just released (12 Jan 2024) an EP, "Before Night Falls - The Black Box Sessions" of 5 tracks recorded live, on tape, at Studio Black Box, France. The music of LUX the band is guitar-based, authentic, organic, analog. Have a listen and hopefully you'll follow us for a voyage filmed in Super 8.

LUX the band has played in Paris in venues such as La Boule Noire, Café de la Danse, New Morning, Bus Palladium and has played in NYC as an acoustic duo.

Imagine Natalie Merchant wandering into Villa Nellcote when the Stones were recording Exile on Main St. and you’ll get a flavour of who they are and that seductive allure of punchy guitar and wounded lyrics. Laforge feels strongly that all songs should work with just guitar and voice and, similarly, Randall’s spare lyrics tap into that same traditional aesthetic uncomplicated by layers of production or studio gimmickry.

Since his earliest self-produced CD-Rs, Philadelphia psych-pop master Kurt Vile has referred to himself as "Philly's Constant Hitmaker"—and while he gave himself that name with a sly wink, he was also nodding toward the songwriting prowess that would result in him becoming one of his home city's most celebrated rock artists. "I’m always thinking about catchy music, even though it’s fried, or sizzled, out," he says. "It's my own version of a classic thing—it's moving forward and backward at the same time." 
On his latest album, (watch my moves), Vile pulls his talents as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer in unexpected directions—and the result is a vibrant, yet meditative album propelled by Vile's laid-back charm and curious spirit. Every lyric has been chiseled down into an aphorism, every bloom of distorted guitar or murmuring synth helping create that "fried" pop. "It's about songwriting. It's about lyrics. It's about being the master of all domains in the music," he says of his ninth album and first in partnership with a major label, Verve Records.
(watch my moves) comes from a period when Vile, whose touring and recording schedule during the 2010s was seemingly constant, stayed in one place. His mind was always swirling, though, puzzling out pointillistic lyrics, dreaming up spit-shined choruses, and checking in on other dimensions. "My favorite pastime these days is sitting drinking coffee in the morning post-breakfast by the window, reading and listening to Sun Ra, sun shining through the forest trees," says Vile. "In that moment, it's all the traveling I'll ever need. This record encapsulates all that—letting two years roll by and staying in my zone, traveling all the while in my brain, at the piano or in my guitar."
