DON PROVOLONE “A HIP HOP-BIO” My name is Angel Luis Ramos Jr., and I was born in Bronx Lebanon Hospital at 6:30p.m. on June 2, 1974. Born and raised in the Boogie, I became a Hip Hop fanatic thanks to my brother, The Microphone Prince (TMP), I got involved in Hip Hop. The first album that I felt was worthy of being called Hardcore Hip Hop were “Criminal Minded” by KRS-ONE and DJ Scott La Rock (RIP) and “Eric B for President” by Eric B and Rakim. The first album that I brought was “Edutainment” by KRS-ONE and DJ Scott La Rock. Around that era in my life, my lyrical influences were: Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, KRS-ONE, Slick Rick, Chubb Rock. In 1985, I co-hosted with TMP on a college radio station (91.5 WNYE) in Brooklyn. When I was 16, we did a track called “Bad Guys,” which featured TMP(now Co-Founder of Ironclad Ent.), Tito of Fearless Four(now CEO and Co-Founder of Ironclad Ent.), D-Capone (now an accomplished actor signed with Roc-a-Fella Films), and of course, Capitol “A”(Founder and CEO of Rhyme Star Capitol Productions). In 1992, we formed “The Bronx BUTCHERZ” a.k.a. “Los Macheteros Del Bronx.” In 1994, we did a video called “Smooth Criminal,” in which I got labeled co-writers for the track. I also co-produced a track called “Funky for My Man” on TMP’s album “Trunk of Funk.” The album sold 400 units a week for a couple of months, but do to the ups and downs of the music business and poor promotions sales ceased. In 2001, I started my own production company called Rhyme Star Capitol Production of Boogie Down Entertainment. For more than two years now, I have been in the studio working on my album. It’s a struggle, but when I finish I know it will be some of my greatest work. One of my career goals in life is to hope that people all over the world would hear and enjoy my music the same way that I enjoy listening to one of my favorite rappers. I also want to produce tracks, promote up and coming new artists, and eventually act. My other goals are to work with some of the best rappers in today’s industry such as: YONKERS- DMX, LOX BRONX- KRS-ONE, BIG PUN, CUBAN LINX HARLEM- KILLA CAM, P. DIDDY QUEENS- NAS, MOBB DEEP, 50 CENT BROOKLYN- M.O.P., LIL’ KIM STATEN ISLAND- RZA, METHOD MAN, RAEKWON, GHOSTFACE LONG ISLAND- BUSTA RHYMES NEW JERSEY- REDMAN DETROIT- EMINEM ATLANTA- LUDACRIS CALIFORNIA- DR.
