Brain Rays is part of queer collective, DOOMSCROLL, and Devon art & party crew, Bizarre Rituals. He is also a co-founder of Wrong Music alongside DJ Scotch Egg and Matt Lambert (Roger Species).

Known for his hectic, high pressure output with Quiet, and film soundtrack work (as part of Unknown Horrors) collaborating with director Dean Puckett (The Severed Sun, The Sermon, Satan's Bite) and Rhys Chapman (Wonderkid). As a DJ he has performed all over the world, including Transmediale Festival (Berlin), Today’s Art (Den Haag) and Boomtown Fair, as well as two live sessions at Radio 1's legendary Maida Vale Studios. As a producer he has garnered support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, ETCH, Huw Stephens, Drumskull, Annie Mac, and Nikki Nair.

CRTTR is pleased to present their newest format for releasing music.

The CRTTR-CLB series carries the vision of exploring different ways of challenging the notion of club music. For each release we want to bring together four artists who have somehow given us a glitchy feeling on the dancefloor, while digging or in any other listening situation. tactual’s second release comes from Studio Natura, the German-born, now Vienna-based producer & DJ. alongside Copenhagen mainstay artists Thodén and A.dixen, the EP houses five tracks exploring the leftfield side of futuristic, bass-driven psychedelia. 

through two solo-tracks plus a collaborative track with Thodén, the original tracks showcase the merging together of Studio Natura’s love for uk/leftfield techno, with the trippier sounds of trance & psy that he was exposed to during his time living in Copenhagen. the EP comes with a remix from Copenhagen-based producer A.dixen, re-constructing Agents Against Agency with four-to-the-floor functionality, plus a remix by Thodén, whose ‘Immanence Mix’ provides a dense and emotive re-interpretation of the original. mastering of all tracks is provided by Copenhagen-based producer Ctrls.

tact002 will be available for digital download on the 6th September on all platforms.

Hailing from Amsterdam via Catalunya, Will & Ink label head Yaleesa Hall kickstarts Timedance's 2025 run with a hefty arsenal of sound system artillery, expertly sprinkled with rude UKG and electro-laden pulses

Infused with the perfect dosage of driving grooves and earth-shattering low frequencies, these four big and bad cuts are sure to shake the bodies and eyeballs of bass-weight maniacs, breakbeat explorers, adventurous DJs and dancers alike.

Light Headed

Iggy Dope’s EtherwerkZ label continues its higher assembly of bass futurists with the third Ascension compilation. Volume 3 scours the globe to find Mulholland, Mercy System, Flaty, Oyubi ,Warzou, NirBorna, Young Muscle and noRecall in finest form, cross-examining variations on the theme of broken club rhythms and meticulous sound design.

Mulholland opens with the whirling psychedelic chug of Skab_t, gurgling wry with the faintest dembow touch. Manchester’s Mercy System goes deeper with Pressure Changes, cloaking a neatly sound designed redux of hardcore inclinations with a gentle bruk’d rhythm and light dub touch. Moscow’s Flaty goes proper wayward with Moth, a chromatic half stepper that wobbles weird into the furthest lucid interzones. Tokyo’s Oyubi swings a disassociated 2-step lurch on ALEXDUB, locked-in to its hypnotic core. Lyon’s Warzou bounces looser with Phantom Currency, a tight LFO’d jaunt of ghoulish dynamics. Tokyo calls again with NirBorna, Antenna Helix’s sleek broken beat building taut around skittering drums and atonal melodies. Detroit’s Young Muscle goes large with the industrial-sized breaks of Hard Rain Falling, an ever-evolving kinetic bass romp through the tough and pump. Seattle’s noRecall snarls quicker with 972024, a mutant half time future-shock of alien textures that typifies the feeling present throughout

Ascension Vol. 3’s duration; one of an upward trajectory in motion through experimental sound but certified sub-club feeling.
