The second release on Lapse records welcomes UK Tech House mainstay Len Lewis, who’s extensive catalogue of club music stretches across the last few decades, along with newly appraised London based DJ and producer Mariiin. The split EP supports a four track selection of old and new head down club music touching different moods.

The B side spans a more contemporary 4x4 influenced thread of this style that circles closer to the outer rims of techno and acid. The Italian born producer joins the label with the “Snake Is Changing It’s Skin” and “Impasse” which continue fittingly to carve their signature sound, a style consistent in their early releases on the likes of BPR and EYA Records and across their DJ sets as Pleasure Club resident.

« Founded almost four years ago, Le Motel’s Maloca Records has excelled in world-building as it tirelessly brings together some of the best and most innovative artists from different pockets of the club community around the world. This is showcased most notably through the compilation series which returns for its second volume on the 8th December as it combines both established and breakthrough artists.

Across 17 tracks, Maloca, Vol. 2 features both label family and exciting debuts with the likes of Farsight, Griffit Vigo, and DJ JM returning to the imprint. The rest of the compilation sees knockout contributions from the likes of Bambounou, Flore, Konduku, Tristan Arp, NVST, De Grandi, Neida, Cheb Runner, Malo2k, Leese, Ultima Esuna & Destrata, Mika Oki, M I M I and Space Drum Meditation. Whilst these artists may be from different cities across the pond, they all have something in common - they are leading the way for the next wave of club music. Whether that’s the riotous sounds of NVST, Griffit Vigo’s ever- evolving landscape of gqom, Tristan Arp’s signature insect-inspired soundscape, the emerging Brussels-based artists M I M I and Mika Oki or the trippy, introspective melodies of Konduku and Space Drum Meditation. Maloca, Vol. 2, captures a mind-melting moment in time.

The artwork is by Brussels-based painter Anastasia Bay who’s work presents a renewed vision of the human figure. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, Anastasia Bay’s work is all about contrast and balance. The choice of a precise fragment of reality in her works dissolves any narration. »

Following their first release in this format dedicated to the UK scene, they're back with a new opus through which they share their particular love for Australian artists and their bewitching vibes.

12 mainly Naarm/Melbourne-based producers come together on this new 10-track v.a. A project of varied atmospheres, infused with psychedelic grooves, progressive trance, bassy minimal tech and bouncy breaks, it reflects the musical richness that the players on australian vibrant creative scene have to offer.

Hypercolour boss Alex Jones presses on with his killer streak of releases for the label. On this new single ‘Baz’, Jones delivers another earworm of weighty, leftfield electronica. 

‘Baz’, a slice of breakneck UK techno, comes weighted with skittering drum patterns and a deep, penetrating bassline with distorted synthwork and crooked samples.

B1 - Pugilist - Undulate

Out in the countryside there was a sense of ethereal peace and quiet which was hard to find amidst the towering buildings and the densely populated city from which he came. He watched as the trees blew sofftly in the breeze as the rain began to fall from the ominous grey clouds which hung low overhead. Some might be bothered by the sombre weather and the bleak lay of the land but he was not - it reflected the tone of voice which ran through his head. He let out a scream which echoed in the valley and set him free. 

Liam Robertson is set to release an EP on Redstone Press, a record label from Scotland which originated in the Highlands and is now based in Glasgow. The EP is forward thinking and channels elements of city soundscapes and the wild which lies beyond. One to watch.
