Marcal is back for round two on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records with “Cyber Dystopia.” Marcal’s trademark grooves and clever vocal processing make this one of his most exciting and hypnotic records yet. It’s pure class…there isn’t much else to say!

BUT we have to try anyway…
“Cyber Dystopia” starts off with Bionic Jungle, a trippy peak time roller sprinkled with uh, lifeforms or something? We haven’t been able to identify them, which is just proof that Marcal is living on another planet we haven’t been to yet. We’re standing by for the invite.

Moravex’s Paradox picks up where Bionic Jungle left off…chugging along in his signature style. It’s loopy. It’s tooly…but still heavy on the grooves, making it a perfect fit in deep and peak time sets alike.

Nothing About the United States hits a little harder and darker. Dissonant drones and catchy sound design take over, flipping the switch from “party” to “punish.” For fans of his recent track on Enemy, “Never Wrote This.”

Don’t Fear the Three is a classic Marcal percussive workout in heads-down mode. It’s as equally powerful as every other track on the record.

“Cyber Dystopia” is all about the world we are living in right now: artificial intelligence, smart houses, smartphones, self-driving cars, deepfakes, fake news, cybernetic warfare, metaverse, social networks, the internet of things, machine learning, virtual reality...
We are definitely entering a new stage of civilization, the post-modern era.
But,
Are we living an 'apocalypse of self-abdication' already? Or we are, as humans, simply evolving as technology evolves? There will ever be a limit to technology? Will it help as much it can also destruct?

'E-Missions is proud to issue ‘Vassau,’ the debut EP from Parisian producer Nymed. A rising star in the city of light’s queer underground, the EP includes 4 originals and two remixes from Berlin-based producers Oliver Deutschmann and E-Missions label manager False Witness.

Known only as Kamil to close friends, DJ & Producer Nymed has established himself as a pillar of the queer nightlife community in Paris. Hailing from the Flemish coastal town of Dunkirk in the north of France, Nymed discovered techno and its variant strains at a very young age from trips to neighboring cities such as Ghent, Brussels & Rotterdam. Motivated from these early ventures, Nymed’s party series ‘Conceptual Violence’ was born. Organized in blockhouses from the second World War on the coastline of Dunkirk, the concept for the function was simple: to reappropriate & transform a place of war into a place of celebration, joy & love. From this series of events, the podcast of the same name took shape, which has featured a growing roster of acclaimed international talent.

After relocating to Paris in 2019, Nymed has honed in on his production skills, heavily influenced from the established queer scene. After having played for the biggest event institutions in the city such as Spectrum, Myst, Flash Cocotte & Mess, Nymed is now ready to deliver ‘Vassau’ – a four track EP of rhythmic, all-groove Techno tracks inspired from the queer, sexually liberated Parisian club atmospheres of today along with two intense remixes from Oliver Deutschmann and False Witness.

“Vassau” is its own proper mental universe: dark and festive simultaneously, the title track is representative of Nymed’s DJ style that is both dubby, hypnotic, fast, and sexually charged. “Edging On The Roof” leans further into hypnotic and trippy territory, inspired from timeless old school techno records. “There Is No Return” was one of the first tracks that caught label manager False Witness’ attention. The heavy rhythm paired with the laser sharp synth work became a peak club time favorite for False Witness at parties like Berghain’s Lab Dance or warehouse raves in NYC, and demanded its own dark, EBM infused remix. “Insanity” represents Nymed’s penchant for quirky melodies that play well in large clubs and small dark rooms alike. Rounding out the record is a technically advanced remix of the title track by Berlin’s own Oliver Deutschmann, a seasoned veteran DJ and producer known for thrashing big rooms with his grandiose brand of techno. Nymed’s ‘Vassau EP’ (EMS017) is out on April 13th, 2023.

E-Missions Recordings was founded in 2017 by artists P.Leone and Caiazzo in South Brooklyn & Queens, New York. The boutique label focuses on electronic music from emerging and established artists expanding on various styles of Techno, House and Experimental genres. Now managed from Berlin, the label is excited to share upcoming contributions from artists like founder P.Leone, cyd, Private Press, False Witness, AceMo, Annika Wolfe, Sebastian Voigt, Nymed, Junior M, ANTIL, Spencer Parker, Radio Slave, Oliver Deutschmann, and more to be announced.'
