After their last collaboration on Miteinander Musik with „adonis“, which was played by great names on several big festival, aswell as on bbc radio 1, Manuelle Musik and Steffen Sonnenschein are back with a bang.

The Original Mix is an Acid Techno track, mixed with breakbeat parts and really strong pad synths - all in all a fully armed track, made for the darker hours on techno dancefloors.

Ellum Audio’s Agents Of Time from Bari, italy , reinterpreted the track with a more monotone touch, supported by amazing arps and and strong drumwork, which makes the remix a timeless piece of music.

Eric Volta’s interpretation shows us a more weird and ambient-ish pumping side of „Gun“.

El primer EP del sello EPM Music es el número 60 de su catálogo y lleva la firma de todo un veterano que estrena alias: Cristian Vogel como NEL.

Como ya sabrás si has estado atento a la carrera del chileno últimamente, éste estaba enfocado a composiciones más experimentales y aunque va a seguir por esa senda, también quiere volver a mirar a la pista de baile y lo va a hacer como NEL, un alias que va a usar sobre todo con producciones que grabe principalmente con sintetizadores modulares. "El sonido está caracterizado por ritmos analógicos, texturas y 'beats' con un flujo improvisado", comenta el músico en la nota de prensa. 

Son cuatro los temas de este primer EP que saca con este nuevo alias que lleva el título de Gaussi Fighter, nombre de la nave que aparecía en el libro Mechanismo (1978) de Harry Harrison.

Nosotros hoy tenemos el placer de estrenar el primer tema del mismo antes de que salga a la venta este viernes 26 de enero.

Last Night On Earth welcome the prolific Deadbeat with a special vinyl ‘LNOE in Dub’ compilation, featuring a new Sasha exclusive. The DJ/producer, sound artist and music tech educator already has an extensive resume of labels and collaborators including Echocord, Mutek, Sonar, RBMA, and Monolake. Deadbeat aka Scott Monteith has reworked his eight favourite cuts from the LNOE back
catalogue, creating dub interpretations of tracks from Sasha, Hunter/Game, Ejeca, Jody Barr, VONDA7, Alex Niggemann, Jon Gurd and Dubspeeka. The Canadian-born, Berlin-based producer has delivered the dream – reworks which could stand up as single tracks in their own right, while preserving the gravitas of the original cuts. Furthermore, Sasha’s ‘Float Collapse’ is an exclusive track from the label head, never before released.

Along with eleven albums, 20+ singles, countless remixes and collabs, Deadbeat also has a peerless dub archive spanning early Jamaican roots, through the 80s/90s to today’s evolving global scene. His DJ mix ‘Radio Rothko’ in 2010 is rated by various publications as one of the most genre defining mix CDs of all time. 

For Deadbeat, his debut for Sasha’s imprint is especially meaningful. ‘I saw Sasha play for the first time in Toronto around 1996, and while we have travelled in quite different musical circles since then, it was a real honour to put this project together. The LNOE catalogue has so many melodically rich dance floor killers, it was a real pleasure to rework them into a more meditative, cerebral mode. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Stevie R back for a mini album to be released in two parts, each part respectively titled Oropós and Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias.

Stevie has been busy honing his signature “Rebetronica” sound, dynamically fusing the Rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with cutting edge influences and analogue electronics. Here he teams up with Parisinos, with whom he is forming a partnership for his own imprint Inside Out Records. The results are impressive, building on his debut album Melt released on Chapter 24 last year.

Part I’s title track Oropós is a case in point; it is a feat in elegant, pared back simplicity. An insanely catchy vocal offsets an equally hooky bassline and percussion track. Somehow pulling off being dark and upbeat through something of a "haunted house” vibe, the piece is satisfyingly propelled forward by a menacing acid line.

Oropós then receives a massive rework courtesy of Crossbreed founder Kiwi. Also based in London, the artist showcases all his skills on an Edition that amps the power and the darkness of the original while adding a touch of reverie for very good measure.

Part I is satisfyingly rounded off by a second original, Melina (on Acid). Italo-drenched arpeggios glisten across a cosmic backdrop, atop an octave bass. The sounds of the night have never felt so good.

Three thrilling stories in sound. Watch out for follow up package Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias in the coming weeks.

Exclusive: Motel77 - Three On The Floor (Sascha Funke Remix)

Berliner Sascha Funke is back from a temporary vacation and his Genex EPs on Permanent Vacation to release a remix for Motel77's track Three On The Floor on Mexican label Duro. Funke's approach takes the listener back in time, to an episode of the 2000s when dark synth chords paired with an extraordinary groovey bass line, vocal snippets and a darkly twisted vibe used to be key on Steve Bugs' Poker Flat label. A sound that resembled the internationality of the Berlin club- and subculture, a sound that lashed the audience through PacMan-ish club levels, a sound that was as drippingly wet as the sweat off the wall, a sound that was as creepy as the Freaks could get, a sound that now is re-touched, re-designed and relived by Sascha Funke. Aside from the latter characteristics Funke keeps his work hypnotic by layering various bleepy tones creating this kind-of-cool track with a technoid vibe that you are dying to hear in a club played out.

Motel77's EP Savage will be released on Duro on August 28th, 2020.
