Splits is a new series of releases from OO Recordings that focuses on connecting two artistic minds into one split release.

The first installment is a Nordic affair with Iceland's Jónbjörn on the A-side and Finland's Torolf Stendik on the B-side. Though stylistically operating in different shades of electronic music, both artists share a knack for relentless experimentation, ingenious use of their chosen array of sounds, and Nordic quirks that are hard to put a finger on. The release spans a spectrum of glitchy experimental with hints of IDM and minimalistic techno with industrial twists on the A-side, whereas the B-Side combines slower, downtempo-ish tracks with deeper house cuts with acid tips.

@this-is-our-time welcomes @aspetuck from the US to their label family with 'The Time Capsule Experiment' EP. His three original tracks are ranging from house, breakbeat to electro but all of them come with a nice twist. Jazzy chord & odd vocoder sounds accompany a cosmic soundscape on the EP starter 'Lift Point' and with tweaked chirps & eastern strings on a bare breakbeat, 'The Time Capsule Experiment' is definitely the most leftfield one on this EP. Closing off the release is the sinister electro 'Solace' of which we can only imagine a demon-summoning tribal ritual was the inspiration. 
The EP comes with two remixes. Jeigo's rethinking of the title track is a meetup of two worlds: an aerial stomper for closing your set in the early morning hours. The dubby trance remix of 'Lift Point' is from the label boss Route 8 - his synth pads have never been so trippy like this!

Adam Pits lands next for a debut on X-Kalay as one of the most talked about new producers circulating the UK underground. Based in Leeds, Pits has already attracted the attention and support of established players such as Subb-ann, Call Super and Ciel and left countless others scrambling to chase down his energetic club centric productions.

With his style drawing on the best elements of proggy house, breaks, trance and techno he delivers a solid EP for X-Kalay of driving club rhythms, UK bass and tranced out euphoria; the maturity of his craft seeming to belie this young producer’s relatively modest age.

We premiere title track “Piston Pump”, which provides something a little different than what we've come to expect with Adam's productions - yet demonstrating his broad flex to hit every corner of the dance floor. This cut errs on an almost video game-esque soundtrack tip, Duke Nukem style - slowly chugging its way through dystopian pixels and blocky future formations. It's also well worth listening to the mysterious Magicwire artist Bliss Inc. remix of this, flipping the downtempo vibes into a chugged out trancey peak time banger.

A place of peace had become nigh on impossible to find; there was too much chaos around and not enough time to spare. A moment for oneself had become a rarity, falling through the gaps between flurrys of emails and expanding workloads, clouded by relentless tasks and daily expectations. But it was a necessity — a moment of tranquility had to be the priority, self-care had to come first.

Berlin party, collective and label Radiant Love are seeing out a year we're all happy to see the back of with a release from Parisian DJ and producer E00, titled Peace & Tranquility. His hazy, dreamy output brings some lightness to the end of a dark year, helping us over the final hurdle and in to 2021. Across the four tracks, lush pads and airy atmospheres are married with rolling drum patterns and crisp percussion that meander through tempos but keep us floating in the air.

The Radiant Love crew know what’s good. Aside from running a great mix series and their (due to obvious reasons now halted) club nights, the Berlin-based arts and performance collective has been releasing some pretty spectacular music over the last 12 months. With previous releases landing on Paradygme Records, the label he co-runs with Hybu, and Yellow Island, the Paris-based producer serves his highly infectious brew of ’90s influenced progressive house stylistics.
