Kerri Chandler - Coro (Kaoz 6 23 Dark Mix) DEEP HOUSE

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12” par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves.  Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it’s of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions.  Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut.  

‘Gun Fingers’ is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst ‘Calling All Dancers’ is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times.

Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of ‘Gun Fingers’ exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release.  Those who know Sotofett’s killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint.  And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what’s up on this set of remixes!

Strange things happen in strange settings under strange circumstances… or so we thought. This is a tale of trivial things happening to common people in ordinary circumstances, but to exceptional results, both for the music and the somewhat bizarre narrative it conveys. After all, everyone involved has a penchant for surrealism: Tessuto with his manifold militant personas and Mutado Pintado and his storytelling comic character. 
MFK is the type of Gesamtkunstwerk that allows for this poliphony, one that  encapsulates all the atmosphere in a salacious musical base and allows for rich reinterpretations, either it is us deciphering its lyrical content or a stalwart such as Virginia rewiring its rhythmic potence.

Bolting Bits favorite Ben Gomori, the label head of Sterns Edits, is once again coming out with a new edition of his official Afro Edit series where he and others produce house-friendly versions of some of the best African-influenced music from around the world. For his 5th edition, Ben has decided to rework the talented band Yabba Funk, who are a group of musicians and friends that formed together in 2006 in Brixton. Throughout their time together, they have released two albums with Sterns Music and have performed numerous acclaimed live shows — including support slots for Seun Kuti and Ebo Taylor.

This EP includes an edit and dub from Mr. Gomori himself of Yaaba Funk's track "Hwe Hwe Mu Na Yi Wompena." However, the tune we are spotlighting today comes from Danvers, one half of the duo Kassian, who has been tearing it up on his own on labels such as Curve Records, Boogie Cafe, and Ben's other imprint Monologues. In his latest effort, Danvers takes the infectious energy of "Oman Foa" into a triumphant new direction, with one of his broken beat rhythms at its core — recalling his big summer track 'Aye Ata' which received heavy support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Midland. With a succinct arrangement that lets the joyous brass and powerfully harmonized vocals shine potently, it's feel-good party music that works wonders when deployed at the right place and time.

@ManPower-1 ’s Now Now Now label serves up new heat from @ClubTularosa, a DJ and production duo from LA who are two of the boss’s best friends. The release comes complete with stellar remixes from Marvin & Guy, and The Juan MacLean.

Club Tularosa love Italo disco, post punk and new wave, plot cosmic DJ sets and as well as playing round LA, also promote their own events. After a track on Me Me Me, this EP marks the pair’s first ever full release and it is a special one indeed that is already receiving plays from key Djs including Roman Flugel.

 ‘Kenji’ is a trippy and trance-inducing track with sheet metal snares and a heavenly vocal underpinned by a brilliantly rugged bass-line. It’s stripped back but hugely effective and atmospheric.

Stripped-back, heads-down grit noir with a juicy, thumping bassline, a vocal from one of the greatest house conjurors of all time and some devilishly trippy elements, ‘Fahrenheit 625’ is heavy and gets straight to the point. An unabashed statement of comeback intent from Craig and Graeme… It leaves us wanting more.

Remix-wise Mexican techno maestro Theus Mago links up with continental cousin ld!r for a subversive excursion, where a whole new top-line spirals in and out of focus with raffishly funky results.
