TalentDisplay confidently fuses old influences into his raw, modern sound, taking rap to a new intoxicating level. The Los Angeles rapper and songwriter TalentDisplay keeps a unique approach to hip-hop that incorporates the influence of fresh sounds, reality and assorted styles.

TalentDisplay blasted on to the music scene in 2006 with his self-titled multi-lingual single. Since then, he has worked with superstar artists Fredro Starr and Ca$his, collaborated on pop, rap and R & B tracks while even spending some time working at Paramount assisting with songwriting and more.

In 2010, TalentDisplay released the Limited Edition Street Album "Between Scenarios.” On the heals of his success with “Between Scenarios,” TD released “Purple Yellow (Lakers' Anthem)” a tribute to the L.A. Basketball team. The track went viral and became an instant classic having been viewed by tens of thousands of people on YouTube currently at well over half a million views.

In 2013 he followed up “Between Scenarios” with “Keep Pushing No Matter What.” Released through his Bandcamp account excusively.

Recently in 2015, TalentDisplay released “Loyalty Is Everything” which was featured on various media outlets and received great reviews globally and domestically.

His music is hard with beats that will get everyone moving in the club, at the heart and when people open up and let his lyrics get within. He has a vast frame of reference that he expertly wields making mention of diverse cultural icons like King Tut and Johnny Depp in just one verse.

In 2015, TalentDisplay released “Loyalty Is Everything” which was featured on various media outlets and received great reviews globally and domestically.

Last year in 2016 TalentDisplay released his EP, "Different Place" which has received great reviews from its listeners! That same year, TalentDisplay was mentioned on Power 106 & LA Leakers' Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk on their social media outlets. TD was (and still is) also ranked "Top 20 Hip-Hop Artists" in Los Angeles on Reverbnation and still holds a top 20 spot today in 2017.

Following that EP's release in 2017, TalentDisplay has released a new album titled "The Antagonist" available on Spotify, Apple Music, TalentDisplay.com & More. In 2018, TalentDisplay released an EP titled "Workflow" which is available on all streaming outlets. It features the high energy track "Work" & 4 more bangers. Mid-2018, an unexpected tragedy happened, and after losing a good friend of his, TD released a tribute song to him titled "Heavy Heart" and a full EP titled "The Illusion Of Balance" in his friend Tom Allison's memory. 

In 2019, TalentDisplay released his EP "CALI4NIA" which received great reviews and is still streaming on music platforms online.

In 2020 during the pandemic the world started to face, TD decided to release his new project "Cats Cash & Grass" with various directions in sound, consistently showcasing his versatility as an artist and songwriter.

TalentDisplay uses the love and support of his fans whom he calls “DISPLAYERS” since they constantly show him love and provide him with the inspiration to create more and music.

My father, George Willis "Bill" Kellington, sang in the Portland Metropolitan opera as a young adult.  He used to sing, Danny Boy to me when I was a wee tad.  My mother sang on the radio starting at about 4 years of age.  I remember enjoying singing with my mother while we did the dinner dishes.  I have always loved music and my main influences were the popular songsters of the 50s and 60s.   I started playing the guitar at around age 20.  I should have had lessons.  My wife, Sharon, taught me basic chords and I learned some more  after that.  I've been writing my own songs since 2003 and I am thoroughly enjoying the process.   I still have my day job practicing law, but if time would permit I would be making music all the time.

     My favorite music site is Soundcloud because it enables comments and reposting and the ability to hear innovative, magnificent and magical, productions of brilliant independent musicians from around the globe.

     I have a home studio with a couple of Yamaha guitars, and a Yamaha MX49  keyboard.  I use AKG mics and Sonar software.  I like to get a lyrics idea, select guitar chords, then prepare lead sheets.  As I play and sing the tentative song, improvements in the rhythm, lyrics and melody almost suggest themselves.

     For me, a song is a project.  It can nearly always be improved with the passage of some time and replaying and singing.   With a melody in my head, I practice singing the song.  Adjustments to clarify the meanings of lyrics also suggest adjustments in the rhythm and the melody.  When I have an acceptable guitar and vocal track recorded, I can then add bass, percussion and other instrument tracks.  Finally, I can add backup vocals or whistling, or both.   I have about a dozen songs in process at any given time.  I will let the songs in progress settle in for a few days or weeks or months.  If I seem to be stuck on a particular song I will leave it for a while and get back to singing it.  Fresh ideas or approach come easier then and usually I get unstuck.

     I find I have to be careful that I not over correct.  Sometimes I'll find that a betterment wasn't really a betterment over time and I'll go back and resurrect the older lyric that then seems superior.

     My dream is to produce songs that have the power to move the emotions.  I find my songs are better if in the process I am moved to tears myself and unless I am moved by the sentiment of a song I don't consider it finished or acceptable.  I have to really feel what I am writing/singing.  I hope you like my music and I would be delighted if it moved you five degrees. ;-)
