Sis is an LA based artist originally from the DMV. She grew up in a musical family and was taught to play the classical piano at the age of 8 by her cousin, Dt Lamont. Following her first job doing voiceover work for BET commercials, she sang in a high school acapella group, and continued her early career as a recording artist with commissioned projects such as theme music for local radio shows and comedians and songs for local special events. While studying art in college, she started two gospel groups with childhood friends, REIGN & His City, and began performing locally. After moving to LA, Sis continued her performing career as a world-touring background vocalist, working with prominent artists such as Kelela.  Her songwriting centers around love and a return to the natural world in a modern life filled with virtual realities. Influenced most by the "golden age" of hip-hop in the 90s, remnants of royal self-awareness (hence the moniker "King Sis") can also be found in her songwriting.
