Tricky is asking like-minded people to record a vocal performance over this unfinished instrumental track that he has prepared for his forthcoming European tour, commencing 17th November in Wroclaw, Poland.

Ideally the performance should be in your own language.
 
If you're intending to go to one of the shows, you can hear and download the track from here. You can then record your vocal performance over the instrumental and upload it on to the same group page here - https://soundcloud.com/groups/perform-with-tricky-in-europe.

Please state the location and date of the show you intend to come to as a tag when uploading your version to SoundCloud. This is VERY important. For example the tag for the show in Wroclaw on 17th November should be - 'Wroclaw 17 November'.
 
Tricky and chanteuse Francesca Belmonte will listen to the tracks and will pick the very best. They will then offer those people the chance to get on stage at a date local to them and have them perform the track live with Tricky, Fran and the band.

There will be one person (and a guest) added to the guest list at each show for which a performer is chosen. There will not necessarily be a performance for every show. 
 
This is intended on this occasion for people coming to shows on the European leg of the tour but you are welcome to submit a performance from wherever you are if you want to be involved.

This is for people already intending to be at a show.

I record my experiments on my Korg synthesizer, which I call BABY.. 
I 'keep' what I'm making/creating while I practice and learn my instrument.

Fear

This an early, rough recording that shows how I used solfege to teach myself how to compose and improvise. This is good old Dannhäuser solfege exercise number 1, and it sounds fairly normal for the first couple bars. Then I improvise a secondary voice. Take the improvisation away, and what you hear is what every French School of Music solfege student heard and sang on day one of their solfege training. Talk about an irresistible gateway drug into the world of learning how to sightread music.

This is also done in response to the countless people I have met who tell me they hear the most extraordinary music in their heads, they just don't know how to write it down. The French School methodology was specifically designed to enable solfege students to achieve this goal. As you can see, at every point in time I know exactly what I am doing, and everyone should be able to do the same, even if they don't develop absolute pitch. Use this recording as a litmus test for evaluating music instructors, courses, and conservatories, to ensure that with their training you will develop the skills to do this.

Leaders of the new generation and purveyors of dancefloor chaos Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner return to the frontline of drum & bass with their debut, self-titled album ‘Kings Of The Rollers’. Whilst each has their own high-grade production style, these three royals have managed to create a sum greater than their parts, as they steamroll through all the rules to deliver an absolute bruiser of an LP.

Across seventeen tracks expect up-front rollers, techy 2-step beats and pure knockout D+B bangers, complemented with slick jazzy numbers and a wide variety of vocal-lead tracks. It’s safe to say they've lived up to the hype with their most dynamic and diverse release to date.

Amongst the carnage highlights include ‘You Got Me’. A towering tear-out beast ladened with thrashing amens and a thundering bassline that’s ready to push every speaker to it’s limits. Low frequency growler ‘Shella’ is peppered with steppy jungle nuances, with Mancunian dance music innovator Chimpo featuring on both production and vocals for an all-round roughneck sheller. ‘Round Here’ is a brazen jungle prowler with Bristolian lyricist Redders at the helm for a future classic anthem.

Whilst being predominantly known for their heavyweight productions and outrageous D+B screamers, the new album also showcases a variety of different flavours. Jungle roller ‘On The Run’ features the smooth spoken word of Queen Rose and ‘Tisno’ brings a warm steppy swing, inspired by their time spent at the very first Hospitality On The Beach.

Hospital’s three kings have set the scene on fire with their electrifying DJ sets and headline festival performances. Their new 'Royal Rumble' tour takes them all over the UK in 2019 with shows in London, Bristol, Brighton, Manchester and beyond.

Drum & bass heavyweights Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner, aka Kings Of The Rollers have entered the ring once again to deliver a 4-track smasher. Pushing the boundaries of D+B to the ropes, ‘The Main Event’ EP is a flawless infusion of each individual style, creating the perfect storm.

A certified knockout D+B banger with an epic introduction that has been doing damage in raves worldwide, ‘XXX’ kicks off the EP with intriguing synth plucks and a sweeping yet powerfully subtle bassline. Next up is the Circuits Rewire of ‘Burnt Ends’, a deeper take from Kasra & InsideInfo of the iconic tearout bruiser. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any darker, the latest rendition of the game-changing roller packs new punches with twisted melodies and a thumping bassline from these deep D+B standouts.

The elegant piano melodies and the angelic notes of Lydia Plain on ‘Somebody Else’ ease the listener into the second half of ‘The Main Event’. It’s not long before crunchy wobbles and singalong vocals take centre stage. Bubbly yet dark, you’ll certainly want to keep your guard up. Rounding off the EP is ‘Solar Heat’, nostalgic arpeggios rest upon trance inducing pads before modulated reeses and rolling drums kick in to deliver a finishing blow.

On top of cooking up layout anthems, Kings Of The Rollers are renowned for their high energy sets and innovative mixing styles. The trio have headlined an array of festivals and large scale shows across the globe, including their own Royal Rumble event series. ‘The Main Event’ EP was originally destined to accompany their biggest headline show to date at London’s legendary venue Printworks. Sadly due to the 2020 COVID-19 crisis, this event was postponed, but you won’t catch these guys throwing in the towel. Kings Of The Rollers - Somebody Else (feat. Lydia Plain)

I'm an indie musician and artist based in London, UK. 

I write my own music and perform it.
I'm also a pianist, a musicologist and a teacher. I have been recording, producing and sharing my music online while connecting with my fans through social media. Everything I've made and I'm still making is with the "work with what you have" mindset, finding the DIY process a necessity that proved quite a great creative and learning experience. I like to experiment with my sound, lyrics writing, composing style and piano or vocal technique. That's the reason for the last few years I've been exploring more experimental paths into creating music and art. 
In my compositions I have included multi-vocal arrangements, personal recordings of traditional music, ambient sounds and mixing cut recorded samples. My inspiration is always intrigued by almost all music genres, but mostly driven from the piano (HER) and the baby (korg x50 synth).
