Mary Yuzovskaya’s vinyl-only Monday Off imprint readies a four track release featuring atmospheric cuts from herself, Craft, Michał Wolski and Soramimi. Launched in 2017, this is the third instalment in Monday Off’s various artist releases and Yuzovskaya’s second appearance on her own label.

Debuting on Monday Off, Brooklyn’s Craft provides an otherworldly number entitled ‘Pursuit Of Passage’, which comprises sawing synths, rattling percussion and soaring pads. Following that, much like Yuzovskaya’s deep and trippy performances ‘Basia’ is ethereal from start to finish and comes complete with murky sub-bass and trailing echoes. On the flip, having appeared on two previous releases Polish producer Michał Wolski and NYC’s Soramimi return to the label. With its syncopated rhythm, metallic features and overall ominous aesthetic, Wolski’s ‘Morph’ is wonky business from the off. Tying it all together, Dusk Notes co-founder Soramimi demonstrates her sound design expertise with the mesmerizing ‘Diatoms’ – masterfully blending intricate layers of oscillating tones, reverberations and whirring effects.

The label has the honor to welcome in its ranks the one who could be compared to a centurion, the greatest in charge in the Roman Army. With more than a decade of experience behind him and which has dictated the aesthetic canons of a genre, Lykos Records presents Ness and his Ep "Memento".

In this sonic adventure @ness delves into the most hidden and dark ravines of memory. In a succession of allegorical scenes, dystopian premonitions and powerful evocative sounds "Memento", focuses his attention on memory and how much it’s fundamental, both as a psychic function of assimilation, as well as for processing data in order to learning.

The Ep opens with the track that gives the name to the work "Memento", which immediately wraps the listener with the deep bass sound and through a wise use of the pads and synths kidnaps his mind.
When body and mind have reached the perfect union, "Bionic Harp" comes into, breaking these balances, with the body undergoes through a pressing groove and the psyche intent on the perception of a harp melody, which echoing far away like a vague foggy memory.

The β side begins with a utopian and almost catastrophic vision that "System Failure" paints, through scratching and repetitive sounds, alarming and catapulting the listener into a dark and distressful nightmare. To conclude and restore calm in this comings and goings of dreams and memories, Deepbass's (@deepbass) adaptation of "Bionic Harp", which highlights the dreamlike atmospheres, creating a sound landscape rich of air and light.

This expansive debut explores the tensions between the internal and external journeys we all have to take to find our place in the world. “Pursuit” uncoils through propulsive kicks and rising atmospherics into a snaking acid riff. “Domain” delivers the heartbeat of the EP with an epic melodic thump morphing into gyrating percussion and bells. “You Owe Me” reigns things in with its restrained looping groove. “Surrender” delivers the final exhale with a freely unfurling track that radiates the joy of arriving at your destination.

A dead calm had invaded the night. The temple’s music and the perfumes had already faded in the air. I arrived at the oasis in the dark of night, standing in soft, fresh sand. Finding myself in a kingdom of silence. Sotis had just made its appearance in the sky and was showing itself timidly to the world.

Fascinated with the sight, I once again started thinking about my unknown origins and the reason why I, Kalila, was at that place at that moment. A memory. The Priestess at Hathor's temple. The glass flask. I put my hand in the pocket of my tunic and with surprise found a small flask filled with a red liquid. My head started throbbing wildly, eyes closing for the pain and the priestess's bright face appeared in my mind telling me

“Drink and you’ll come to life again.”

I drank. Feeling my body slipping and melting with the sand underneath. A vortex of feelings and memories wrapping itself around me. I knew who I was. I knew what I had to do. Akhet had finally come.

We kick off with the expert vocal inputs and stripped back bass tones of 'Away', followed closely by the bouncy designs and breaksy inputs of 'Babylon' and the unpredictable rhythmic manoeuvres of 'Letters' alongside Sampladelic. From here we dive into the smooth sub roles and groovy drum shakes of 'Polarity' before rounding everything off with 'Subtraction', a super choppy finale, alternating between different vocal slices, marinating amidst a warm, fuzzy sub-line below

Crescent London is a new deep & hypnotic techno label centred on ambient textures and dub elements. For the label launch, the London-based collective put together a 13 track 'Various Artists' compilation of some of their favourite producers. Named "Magnetic Fields", the V/A is focusing on electric atmospheres and textures, locking the listener deep in the groove and the hypnosis. From drone and euphoric atmospheres to detailed broken-techno, the compilation displays a textured view on contemporary techno, elegant and mental, yet ready for the clubs to re-open.

They didn't come here for nothing. Spacelunch was promising the merge with energy-informational thinking substances at the level of elementary particles. The crystal sound spread like ectoplasm along the walls of the reflecting vessel of the universe. Drama and the eager grin of adventure have slowed down, bowing its heads in submission to the convergence of musical exuberance. Meditation on the event horizon lit the torch of sharpened perception of all the amplitude shifts.

Dubby substrate absorbed every scrap of the all-pervading ether. This meant that the indefatigable pioneers had harnessed the elements, becoming the bearers of important, extracted knowledge. From now on, their bioresonators are as precisely tuned as possible to the condensation of acoustic waves, which, like a compass, will point the way to the probabilities that emit a powerful impulse. Space stalking and audio transcription are being taken to the new dimensions.

 Founded by Worg in the Anno Urbis Conditæ MMXVIII, Lykos Records was born from the ruins and rubble of ancient imperial Rome. 

 Lykos Records draws its inspiration on such a decadent charm. The label builds its poetics on journeys through time and history, with particular attention to that aura that still today makes both Greek and Latin mythologies eternal and memorable. 

 Victories, defeats, narrations of extraordinary and epic events are depicted into that graphic-musical style characteristic of Lykos Records: from a deep, hypnotic and mental sound to rougher, visceral and pressing ones. A new generation of artists and remixers, flanked by some of the most renowned international masters, are involved. 

 The sound suggested by Lykos legionnaires, through sound design techniques, harmonies, melodies, evocative texture creations and different genres mixed together, makes of each release a story of its own, unique and rare.

 If ars dicendi, the art of saying or rhetoric, was born in ancient Rome, it is now in contemporary Rome music that promotes the art of conceiving, producing and evoking stories, sensations and memories, by all the techniques already mentioned.
 Through these sounds, music becomes a language able of communicating emotions: an interiority created by the musical production touching deep inside the soul of the listener.

 Each release is a unique piece for collectors as it is enriched by hand-drawn artwork. Actually, the ruins of ancient Rome are illustrated by artist Roberto Mulliri, whose works condense the magic of two thousand years of history. His drawings recall the seventeenth-century engravings, with exasperated perspective visions mixed with violent optical effects. The illustrations on the covers of Lykos Records are an invitation to discover some precious Roman treasures - they are a journey through myths and legends between Colosseum, Pantheon and the Imperial Forums. 

 The label is nourished of Rome, of its history and of those souls that roam its streets.
