On this month’s show, we’re very excited to welcome a Cold Blow records special. The show will be in 3 segments. First, it's a Cold Blow showcase, then, Finnish producer Halvtrak will take us on a
disorienting journey through his obscure collection of cold wave,
industrial and EBM. Finally, DJ Visto "Funk" Hiltunen will play us a
mix of his classic edits, before vanishing back into the cool summer
nights of Lapland.
Cold Blow is a London and Helsinki-based label known for their early
UK house and techno reissues, as well as new music in the same vein.
Founded by two friends from the Finnish Lapland, Pete and Janne “J”,
the label roster includes the likes of Dr. Rhythm, Liquid Son, DMX
Krew, Mono Junk, E.M.U., Halvtrak and many more.

His label stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of music, providing a platform for artists to express themselves freely and authentically. With his latest release on ''Eine Welt'' as 700WET he continues together with singer and performer Marja Christians to sculpt melodies, curate experiences, and leave an mark on the musical underground landscape. Two of us were lucky to catch one of their alluring performances this summer. If cosmic dubby synth pop with operatic vocals inspired by the feminist power of erotica ticks a box, you should check them out right now. We welcome Cid with a recording of Nation of Gondwana (Spelunke) 2023 and are looking forward to what is yet to come.

Nummer's music is characterised by a passion for obscurity and authenticity. This characterises the records the French pair endlessly dig for, as well as the studio full of custom built and second hand pieces of hardware they collect.  When used to make their own music, the results range from ambient soundscapes to jacking dance floor bangers via electro futurism. It comes on their Nummer Music as well as Going Good with slick stylistic variations that also define this mix for us. 

The live and DJ duo create a loose and gangly groove early on here and keep it up over the course of an infectious 80 minutes. There's flabby slow motion techno, wiggling electro funk and cosmic acid call upon along the way. What ties everything together so neatly are the atmospheres around the tracks, which are never less than mysterious and inquisitive, so buckle up and enjoy the trip.
