Within the span of a year, Tallinn-based club night series and creative collective Shelter has managed to rally dozens of electronic musicians from all corners of the world to an unexpected meeting point by the Baltic Sea. By curating club nights that showcase local talents aside some of the brightest minds in electronic music today, Shelter has undeniably played a significant role in revitalizing Tallinn’s club scene.

More importantly, Shelter uses its platform to shed light on some of the worst humanitarian crises currently plaguing our planet. Beyond covering event costs, ticket sales proceeds from Shelter Showcase events have been directed to organizations who provide resources to those in need, including the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition in Ukraine and the Rebuilding Alliance in Palestine.

To celebrate 1 year of building bridges between communities and incubating forward-thinking electronic music, Shelter presents Feyrûse: a compilation album featuring 17 tracks by an intercontinental melting pot of musicians, majority of whom have graced the dancefloors of Shelter.

Feyrûse aims to capture increasing unity within the global electronic music community. The musical styles represented on the album are as varied as its diverse cast of artists, ranging from purpose-built hybrid club to serene and blissful melodic rituals.

Mookie - Under Authority

Chapultepec (“grasshopper hill” in Nahuatl) has been a vital part of Mexico City for almost 600 years. A hydraulic marvel designed by the texcocan Tlatoani Nezahualcóyotl to work as a lung in one of the biggest cities on the planet. 

Throughout 19 tracks Lao explores the imaginative and timeless possibilities of Chapultepec in the form of deep melodies, organic textures, and tribal percussive patterns influenced by Jungle and Rave. The album is a homage to CDMX, the Mexican electronic music scene, and its dancefloor for the last 15 years.

Qatarí-colombiano, Sami Sameer se crió en Mascate, donde estudió percusión orquestal y jazz. Su relación con la música se vio alimentada por la necesidad constante de su cerebro de sonidos estimulantes, y albergó una obsesión por los ritmos impredecibles y el espíritu caótico de la música que estudiaba y referenciaba. En la actualidad reside en Barcelona y, tras conocer la vibrante escena underground de la ciudad, comenzó a pinchar como forma de compartir su amor por el sonido.

Con apariciones en proyectos locales como Dos Dos Radio, Jokkoo Collective y Zilzal Platform, sus sets son conocidos por sus texturas abrasivas e industriales, que atraviesan géneros como el deconstructed club, noise, dubstep, breaks y ambient, al tiempo que se inspiran en sus raíces y su formación musical.
