Other Joe’s ‘Jealousy Tulip’ arrives in stasis - as if suspended in mid-air. No longer rising but not yet falling.

After contributing a piece to our Stay In Bed Vol. II compilation we proudly present the latest EP from the .jpeg Artefacts label head, a hazy five tracker built on swirling loops, murky textures and playful motifs.   Joe’s EP is comprised of loops made in a single day and ruminated over long walks. Large project files and overloaded effect racks caused the renders of each file to take on a slightly different flavour each time they were exported. We’ve dubbed this precarious workflow “CPU Jazz”.

Within these uneasy and at times disconcerting sonic textures there are hopeful melodies and rhythms that cut through the fog, suggesting an idyllic spring that is just out of reach. Let your ear hold onto these moments and use them as a key to open you up to the meditative garden of the Jealousy Tulip.

We're back with another mind-bending mix coming from the Belgian scene, courtesy of Loto Retina. In the second mix in a series of two mixes curated by Mika Oki, Loto delivers a tough, bass-heavy journey full of distorted low ends and a punk edge.

Around 1964, french composer and sound researcher Luc Ferrari coined the term "Musique Anecdotique" to describe his use of recognizable sounds in his music, as opposed to the Musique Concrete's search for "pure" sound abstraction. Sounds that tell a story, that depict a landscape, whose source most can pinpoint or try to... OK NERD.

But what if Luc Ferrari was a terminally online kid who's also NOT BORING ?

That's where Déluge steps in. The Paris based sound mangler, half of live-coding duo FRONSSONS ʕ •`ᴥ•´ʔ and part of Cookie Collective gifts us with a dizzying study on what could/should/would be "La Musique Anecdotique d'Internet".
Sitting right at the intersection between a serious para-scientific essay on our modern media consumption habits and pure shitposting, this episode of OOPSY takes us on a wild ride where french memes, gabber, experimental gems, trap vocals, cursed mash-ups, quirky sounds and generational memories of the web collide.
Somehow evoking a TikTok doomscrolling experience on speed, his set is full of masterful jester moves and more-than-unexpected curves.
