DJ HISTORY: (Paul`s own words) "I started buying records and DJing at house parties back in 1990. I was properly into the underground stuff — Chicago House, Acid, Techno and Electro, although it wasn’t really split into genres at that point. Some of my first biggish gigs were supporting "Alabama 3" in Brixton, playing at "Slack" in Brighton, and doing some of the "Fun-Da-Mental" parties in the early '90s.
Back in the days when I had the energy to keep going, I was always the one playing the afters. Five or six hour sets, digging deep, keeping it going while everyone else was just chilling. That’s when I felt most in my element.
After moving to Bristol, I became a resident for "under_score" and later joined "I Love Acid", where I still play now. Been very lucky to DJ with some of my musical heroes thanks to the "I Love Acid" nights.
In 2015, I started a radio show on "Estimulo’s" platform called "We’re Going Deep" - It was actually just the record on the deck at the time, but I love the record and the sentiment behind. I started a Facebook group alongside it to chat tunes and connect with people, and it ended up growing to over 15,000 members. Off the back of that, I launched a label, also called "We’re Going Deep" — using a lot of the contacts I’d made through the group. Since then I’ve put out over 20 releases, all sticking to the same idea: deep, timeless electronic music".

INSPIRATION: "My inspiration really came from the club nights I was going to back then - "Tonka Sound System" played a huge part — especially Harvey, Chocci, and Rev — but also the "Crazy Club" at Astoria, "Dance Wicked" at The Arch, and "Labyrinthe" in its pre-hardcore days. And of course, all the pirate radio stations. "Fantasy FM" in particular was a massive influence. That’s where I was hearing tunes I couldn’t find anywhere else — it lit the fuse for digging and collecting".
