Following the label’s first release, founder Boran Ece returns to Son d’Etroit with the imprint’s second offering this December. First drop ‘Relance’ set the tone for the label, featuring in Spotify’s Lo-Fi House playlist, picking up support from John Digweed, Alexi Delano and Guy J, and selling out on vinyl within a few weeks. Hot on its heels, the Basel-based DJ and producer now steps up to deliver his latest single, ‘Reprise’ - accompanied by a remix from Romanian favourite, Mihai Popoviciu. Ece’s original showcases a vibrant medley of dynamic vocals amongst refined melodies, punchy kicks and subtle dubby chords throughout to offer a hypnotic and heady house cut. Next, Mihai Popoviciu’s slick take on the track introduces a skipping, snaking groove guided by swinging percussion, resonant stabs and tripped out vocal snippets.

The ‘Dubby Feelings’ EP is a two-tracker that showcases the latest step in the evolution of the Spaniard’s deep-yet-bouncy House style.
First up is ‘OP Bass’, which builds on a solid foundation of classic drum machines and rolling percussion. A catchy little vocal cut kicks off an infectious bass line that is joined by subtle chord stabs before Hurlee seriously turns up the glory with soaring pads that will float you through this groover with a big smile on your face.

Damian Lazarus has been a true wizard of the underground, conjuring club anthems that cut through the fog with hypnotic energy. With "Magickal Remixed (Part I)," he's opened a portal into a whole new dimension. This release is the first part of a two-part remix series dropping via Crosstown Rebels, and it's got the heat to get any London afters jumping.

"R U Dreaming?" originally graced us with introspective vibes, but Harry Romero’s remix dials up the low-end pressure and gets gnarly with tribal energy. It swings with heavyweight groove and is built for maximum warehouse damage.

Romero's remix is the opening salvo in a package that also features Jonathan Kaspar and Mëstiza, offering fresh takes on Lazarus's soundscapes that bridge folklore with futurism. It's a hypnotic, slow-burning journey into the heart of the dancefloor.

Pavel Iudin - Framework EP

Pavel Iudin is back on Poker Flat Wax with a new the killer four-track EP pressed on green and white vinyl.

Inspired by an industrial, technoid vibe reminiscent of Iudin growing up in a city surround by metallurgical industry, the title track 'Framework' is a slinky, crafty burner, built around an irresistible groove. Iudin keeps the extras to a minimum, letting the balance of a few key elements become the track's strength.

'Echelon' works around a tightly woven drum sample before opening up with some beautiful Access Virus synth effects.

'Dummy' is an exercise in restrained deepness - the track has a submerged quality that could work on many dance floors.

Last up is 'Automotive' - another groove driven cut that uses a minimum of elements without ever feeling minimal - sign of a producer fully in control of his craft.

"Automotive', says Iudin "is in contrast with my other records. I used sounds that are not typical for myself and they led me to something new. Perhaps this is a continuation of my previous track Dubrawa. I was also inspired by the idea of the raw and dubby Wax Only series, using simple patterns and sounds."
