Back in July, Russ Yallop released the artfully dark & dirty, trippy 'The Journey' on Crosstown Rebels, featuring the high and haunting vocals of Aimee Sophia. Now getting the remix treatment by Melokolektiv, the rising French production duo craft a more driving techy groove that keeps the sinister atmosphere of the original but weaves in alternative textures with streaks of acid and melodic bleeps. On the B-side Russ Yallop revisits his original tracks and offers up a full-bodied dub of 'The Journey' as well as a wonky tech dub version of 'How I Feel' feat Belle.

It's that time of year again and ADE is right around the corner, which means Get Physical has called upon the likes of Brett Johnson, Mandy, Tim Green, Fabio Giannelli and more to bring you a bevy of unreleased tunes that have made for a very moody, very get-the-party-started kind of soundtrack to prepare for our favorite dance conference of the year. Poker Flat Recordings has been dealing out underground house music with a unique twist since 1999; from the defining debut 'Loverboy' through the Bugnology series, acclaimed albums and worldwide club hits, Steve Bug's essential imprint has unearthed new talent, developed rising stars and welcomed veterans into the fold. Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet, starting with this first installment of the anniversary series called Four Jacks.

Following the winning format of the series thus far, Part 3 boasts two slamming new remixes of classics from the vault, and two brand spanking new tracks from Poker Flat's stellar roster. Argy's 'Love Dose' of 2005 marked the debut of one of the scene's most fascinating newcomers, and defined the sound of minimal courtesy of an unforgettable remix by Luciano; now getting a 2014 update, the track has been taken to by the talented duo Audiofly, who makeover its identity with their signature sleek deep tech style. 

Two heavyweights go up against each other next, as Joeski tackles the Martin Landsky classic 'Reject'; the deep jacking soulful groove of that track is remade with a unique take on tough house beats by the Maya Records master.

Mark Henning applies his signature dark pads to a tech house humber with a light touch on 'Mad Half Hour', while Dario D'Attis provides some authentic squelchy retro funk on the irresistible '96000'. Three of the Four Jacks have now been revealed, proving again that at 15 years deep, and Poker Flat Recordings is still at the top of its game.

These are two massive dance floor tunes that will surely find their way into every
room scenario for the foreseeable future.

On the A side is the EP title track, 'Throwl' and Hinz does it again. Much like the huge hit 'Doch' from Hinz & Ruhmhardt's Panther EP earlier this summer, he's laid the groundwork with a giant kick drum, rolling bass and crisp hi hats, while a warm, distorted organ line relentlessly works into crescendo it never fully reaches. 
'Throwl' creates a massive amount of energy by never going over the edge, but taking it right there. Another brilliant display of how real restraint works magic on a crowd.

For the flip side, Hinz goes peak time psychedelic with 'Ignite'. 
A big kick drum and tight hat lock the groove while a single note and pulsing pad build the tension until the main element reveals itself as just a few notes stuck in a warm, dizzying loop. As the lead intensifies, its repetition becomes increasingly hypnotic and the bass kicks back in. From here it's all eyes closed and all hands in the air.

Known for mutations of her own, MAGDA, the Berlin resident DJ and producer, brings her influences and creations full circle in this runway soundtrack act SHE’S A DANCING MACHINE. Through over thirty tracks of classic and fresh as hell dance burners, the selection and style is reflective yet reactive to what “minimal” music and mix albums ought to create. From robotic hustles to disco house sprinkler moves and electro-tech windmills, Magda turns the years back to phuture.

Equal parts perspiration and inspiration, SHE’S A DANCING MACHINE delivers with micro-edits, custom loops and lofty effects, born out of her DJ ascension from beating the bits out of her Final Scratch in clubs. Best known for the track "Body Language" and the remake of Laurie Andersons "O Superman". Bodmer and his former band partner Philipp Jung, along with DJ T. and Booka Shade are the founders of Get Physical, which became one of the most popular dance labels in the world. M.A.N.D.Y. subsequently provided mixes for other labels, including „At the Controls“,  „Fabric“ and „Renaissance“. Following collaborations with Bob Moses, and Dubspeeka, as well as remixes for Roxy Music, Röyskopp, The Knife and Underworld to name just a few. The long-awaited debut artist album Double Fantasy was released, incl. collaborations with the iconic Jungle Brothers and the classical and experimental pianist Francesco Tristano . 2018 signaled the beginning of a new era for M.A.N.D.Y, since Patrick Bodmer will continue to fly the flag under M.A.N.D.Y. without his former partner and childhood friend Philipp Jung, who started his solo project „Forever Jung“.
