Born in Hackney, East London, M.Artz is a man with a powerful story to tell. Speaking from a place of reasoning and truth his poetry stirs emotions through his animated, melodic, thought provokingly conscious storytelling that is witty, whilst going straight for the jugular.
Drawing inspiration from poet Gil Scott heron, movies, music and real life, M.Artz produces poetry that is both clever and relatable to many. Not afraid to be political M.Artz has performed at reclaim Brixton, take back the city, The Floacist presents Flo at the Juno Bar in Shoreditch, soulful Sundays, who's got the hitz? (3rd place finalist), LYP Radio and numerous open mic spots.
M.Artz's journey is one of purpose. He describes his style as "melodic poetry". Choosing poetry as his weapon of choice because of "the flexibility it allows me to play with and manipulate words". M.Artz incorporates music into his narrative, adding depth and dimension to create something unique.

Already proven as a talented, sought after songwriter and revered platinum-selling artist, Marsha Ambrosius is meeting the next challenge in her already impressive musical career by reinventing herself as a solo artist with her J Records debut disc LATE NIGHTS & EARLY MORNINGS. Hailing from Liverpool, England, fans first got a taste of Marsha’s talent as the singing half of the duo Floetry. Their 2000 debut Floetic produced signature singles like “Say Yes" and "Getting Late" as well as four Grammy nods. Following the 2005 release of their second studio album, Flo’Ology, the ladies veered creatively and personally. While the split was difficult, Marsha continued to build a name for herself as a songwriter and producer, creating “Butterflies” for the late Michael Jackson and other hits for artists such as Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx and Nas. She’s been nominated for a total of six Grammys and has been honored by BMI as their Songwriter of the Year. Over the years, Marsha has stayed relevant as an artist via touring, writing/producing and mixtapes like 2007’s Neo Soul is Dead, 2008’s Yours Truly and 2010’s Yours Sincerely. She also appeared as a featured artist on projects from Patti Labelle, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Jamie Foxx and Earth, Wind & Fire, among others. Eventually, Marsha signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records however a much-buzzed about solo debut never materialized due to creative glitches. Equipped with plenty of her own talent, she found herself being given songs from producers that were “great but not songs that made sense in relation to each other.” Marsha calls her sound “honest and consistent” and it was important for her to make an album with an overall cohesive sound. She explains, “I think with an album everything has to make sense, like ‘Where is this story going?’” But that wasn’t the only situation posing a challenge for Marsha. A basketball player since childhood, when her music career took off, her diet remained the same as when she was regularly active. Constantly on the road touring and promoting wasn’t conducive to a healthy diet and resulted in her gaining 70 pounds in just one year. She finally got serious about her health and lost the weight safely and slowly over about a two-year period. Now at a strong place mentally and physically, Marsha’s ready to present her sound to the world. The first single, “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player),” is an anthem that women and men can relate to. Marsha explains, “It’s the reality of a bad break up. We wanna be decent human beings and say the right thing, you know, ‘I wish you well.’ But this is ‘Everything that could go wrong for him I want it to because my ego is bruised and I’m acting out.’” There’ve been many songs written about heartbreak, but Marsha’s approach to “Hope She Cheats on You” gets in your face rather than plays the victim. LATE NIGHTS & EARLY MORNINGS is destined to be a classic, as Marsha offers a candid glimpse of her life and perspectives as a woman. Inspired by musical icons like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince, she concedes there is an overall male influence in her songwriting, such as the assertive sentiments heard on hits like “Say Yes.” She explains, “My pen and my point of view has a certain aggression to it because I’ve listened to a lot of male influenced music, which I think makes me one of the most outspoken writers out here. Sometimes as a woman you don’t wanna say what’s on your mind for fear of being judged. But why wouldn’t I say it like that if that’s how I felt?” Musical peers recruited to contribute to the project include Alicia Keys, a reunion with Dre and Vidal (producers of “Say Yes”), Just Blaze and Focus. While her success in the industry is already solidified, Marsha knows it’s never easy to win over fans as a solo artist. Fortunately, she says, “It’s like being thrown in the deep end. ‘Okay I have to swim? Oh well.’ I’ve taken that attitude and it’s carried me forward.”

"Singer/songwriter JJ Soulx flows soulfully and poetically, with lyrically conscious music and a tone that expresses great passion.

Spending her early years surrounded by the sounds of jazz, soul and gospel, she grasped a great sound & feel for music. In her teenage years, JJ would dedicate any free time she had in the studio and on the stage.

In 2011, JJ received her first official airplay from BBC’s Tony Blackburn and Gary Crowley. In the same year she became a law graduate and soon found herself trying to juggle two career paths.

In 2012, JJ landed a project with EMI where she recorded the crowd favorite “Looking Forward”. She continued to spend her hours outside of work exploring her creativity, performing in some of London’s most respectable venues including The Jazz Café and The Roundhouse; gaining a lot of experience along the way.

“Is the city life worth all the stress it’s given”, sings JJ Soulx. In November 2014 she made the biggest decision of her musical journey so far, putting her full-time legal career on hold to fulfill her music passion.

“My musical gift has come from and has been inspired by the divine source, so to me, it is and should be a lifestyle. To do this I have gone ‘Back to the Basics’, which represents a new verse in my life”.

JJ has been developing a dynamic and inspiring collection of material due to be released in 2015. This includes her current single “Back To The Basics”, an acoustic soul rhythmic track featuring the Kora played by “Jally Keba Susso”; which marries the sound of West Africa with JJ’s soulful melodies and harmonies"

 

International House DJ, Producer, Radio personality, Tastemaker and label boss just about sums up DJ Pioneer. A DJ since the age of 17, Pioneer’s passion for music hasn’t changed one bit as his career becomes more successful. His unique mixing ability and handpicked selection is renowned for providing an electric vibe for clubbers and radio listeners across the World. 

Originally influenced by the sound system culture and then jungle music, Pioneer started collecting vinyl whilst at school before he owned a pair of decks. He is no stranger to House and Garage music. Up until 2008, Pioneer had played on several giant Pirate Radio stations including Pure Magic, London Underground, Y2K and Déjà Vu FM. Playing at legendary events such as Pure Silk, Exposure, Sun City and Pure Old Skool to name a few. Pioneer also worked at the ‘Wired for Sound’ record store in his hometown Hackney from 2001 until its closure in 2009. This helped him to understand and appreciate other genres of music more and inspire his taste for new sounds. 

Amongst others, Pioneer was responsible for bringing a new genre to the streets in 2006. UK Funky was emerging, influenced by the Soulful, Funky House and broken beats that Pioneer was playing at the time. His hard work and ever popular club sets and had not gone unnoticed and in 2008, Pioneer progressed to legal radio and joined Kiss FM. In 2009, Ministry of Sound released the compilation ‘The Sound of UK Funky’ mixed by DJ Pioneer. Pioneer featured tracks from Robin S, Ultra Nate, Crazy Cousinz and more. This received great feedback and allowed Pioneer to feature some of the tracks he was responsible for breaking into the scene. In 2010, Pioneer began producing and made his debut with a Funky House track titled ‘Stronger’ featuring Egypt which received great support from the underground, mainstream radio and Sky TV and was also performed at the London Fashion Week.  

Pioneer is now into his 7th year on the UK’s leading dance radio station, Kiss FM. In this, time, he’s championed and played tracks which have eventually progressed onto commercial radio playlists with acts such as MK, Rudimental, Dennis Ferrer, Roska, Donaeo, Kenny Dope, Black Coffee and more recently the chart topping Storm Queen

Pioneer launched his record label in 2012, SOTU (Sounds Of The Underground) Recordings. With 12 releases to date and loads in the pipeline, the label is already proving to be success as it represents the sound of the UK club scene genres from Underground House to Bass and is home to some of the finest up and coming producers. DJ Pioneer has also remixed tracks for world famous Universal Records and has also had one of his remixes signed by Puma for their Cobra Golf advertising campaign and the ‘Cobra Golf Orange Out’ iPhone app. Pioneer’s latest single ‘Circles’ stayed at no1 in the Maltese PRS charts for 3 weeks in November 2014.

Pioneer continues to headline countless clubs up and down UK and also plays at major festivals such as HD (High Definition) and made his debut at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 2014 where he played to over 75000 people on the main stage.

Internationally, Pioneer plays regularly in Ibiza, Amsterdam, Dubai, Barcelona, Marbella, Egypt, Ayia Napa, Faliraki, Kos, Kavos, Jamaica, Mallorca, The Gambia and Northern Cyprus.
