Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Solid Steel (6th March) 'Straight ahead high octane beating Techno' is how L.I.E.S. label boss Ron Morelli describes his mix for Solid Steel and who are we to argue. The founder of Long Island Electrical Systems will be celebrating it's 5th anniversary this year and the New York based label continues to release an uncompromising catalogue of music from Delroy Edwards, Legowelt, Beau Wanzer, Dan Physics and his own project Two Dogs in a House. Expect music from Plastikman, Svreca, Sleeparchive and Paula Temple remixed by Perc. You can catch Ron Morelli at Suicide Circus in Berlin this weekend and he will be heading to BLOC on the 13th March.

Having caused a major splash in 1994 as the Underground Sound of Lisbon with So Get Up, which appeared on Tribal as a major weapon in the hands of the likes of Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez, the a capella alone showcased his innate understanding of what moves dancefloors. Be it in the studio or in the DJ booth, we’re big fans of Rui, his distinctive blend of robust bass-lines, palpable percussion and brooding atmospheres never failing to move our soul or our soles.

Serving up the latest installment on KONFLKT, Van der Meer of dotwav presents his debut solo EP consisting of three original cuts that manifest the label's drive for diversity once again. Guaranteed to go down as a soft stomper that restores scattered senses, 'Tate' rolls out with a steady bassline fueled by counter-balanced melodies. Next up 'Allmende' drills deeper into substance; the stripped-back techno tool plants a mechanical bridge and a solid gateway towards new musical territories. The Nursery Series kicks of the new year with the “Transient Response EP”, an impressive sum comprised of four equally amazing parts, by four very talent artists. 
First up are frequent label contributors Hertz Collision, who kick-off in style with “Loaded”, a no-nonsense four-to-the-floor club banger, that is sure to set the tone for everything that is to follow. A challenge that is readily accepted by A Thousand Details, who’s "Apollo 12” burns as powerful as the spaceship it is named after. An otherworldly experience that is kept in overdrive by Uun and his track “Chrysalis”, delivering his signature blend of spacing pads and driving percussion, paving the way for newcomer Stratum to close off the EP in proper fashion. His proven talent as a DJ to set mood on any dance floor is perfectly transcended into his debut track “A Fraction of Time”. Soma present a special collaboration between label heads Slam and another of Techno’s top tier duos, Obscure Shape & SHDW. With both of these acts currently at peak form, Oblique Strategies is the culmination of a shared vision where both styles of production shine through on every track. UK techno don Jay Clarke joins the Soma ranks with The Kicker. Jay has started making his mark on the global techno scene with some serious releases via the awesome Klockworks label, and of course his own BLACKAXON imprint. Jay’s sound is characterised by elements of straight-up intense techno, blended with deeper Detroit-esque elements, culminating in a unique and well-produced style.

Straight Through opens up Jay’s Soma account and focuses firmly on the dance floor. Looped out, driving percussive elements push the track as hypnotic synths keep the rhythm flowing. Overlook has a tribalistic feel to it as wooden percussion work into a perfectly orchestrated groove allowing chopping hi hats and rides to deliver intensity as swelling atmosphere keep things ominous. Taking things down a deeper path, The Spark bounds with a well-crafted groove as spatial synth work brings more melodic and emotive aspects to the forefront. Title track The Kicker offers up the most diverse sounding cut on the EP with broken beat rhythms and discordant, almost jazzy synths breathing a distinct life throughout the track.

Biography :
Born out of a deep friendship in 2013, Möd3rn was established as a live act channeling the raw energy of techno through pure improvisation. The project was initially founded by Electric Rescue, later joined by Maxime Dangles and Traumer. Eventually, Kmyle and Moteka joined the ensemble. Together, they transcend individual artistry to create a shared musical experience, where every performance becomes a unique journey into the organic and instinctive sounds of techno.

The essence of Möd3rn lies in the synergy of its members, each bringing their unique talents.  Electric Rescue, a pivotal figure in the French rave scene and the visionary behind Skryptöm, along with Moteka and Kmyle, contribute to a collective force that thrives on collaboration rather than competition. Although Maxime Dangles and Traumer have since moved on to other artistic pursuits, their contributions have left behind a lasting legacy and a resilient, innovative foundation for the group.

With over a decade of experience. At the core of Möd3rn is their live performance, the heart of the project. Their sound is a blend of raw yet nuanced energy—a pulsating maelstrom that captures the essence of techno with both intensity and subtlety. Every performance is entirely improvised, as the group connects an array of machines—synthesizers, drum machines, computers, effect pedals, modular setups—into a large analog mixing board, creating an unfiltered and spontaneous techno experience. This approach allows them to interact directly with their audience, crafting unique moments in clubs and festivals that are unrepeatable and born in the moment.

From the intimate setting of the Rex Club to the expansive stages of international festivals, Möd3rn’s journey is one of exploration and expression. Their performances transport audiences into a world where the boundaries of techno are continuously pushed and redefined. Central to their identity is their record label, through which they release albums that reflect their collective vision.

As they continue to evolve, Möd3rn stands as a testament to the power of friendship and improvisation—a living, breathing entity fueled by a shared passion for music and a commitment to creating genuine, unfiltered moments of connection through techno.
