This is something that's been on our minds a lot lately, and when the topic came up with RAS STIMULANT, he was immediately into the idea of making this the subject of a song... and today, we are proud to tell let you know that the SCREEN OFF 12 " EP will be out on June 14th!
 
Besides that very title track, the record features LIGHT THE WAY in it's original version plus the stunning IRON CURTIS Illuminati Mix - we could not be any more happy with how this package turned out! But the fun does not stop there - for all you vinyl DJs, the wax contains the exclusive SCREEN OFF Accapella as well as a little IRON CURTIS Remix Reprise!

You know what else is crazy? SCREEN OFF is actually the 100th - let's spell that out - ONEHUNDREDTH - record to be released on DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR, our "label home" for 15 years now!! To celebrate the occasion, we came up a little video for SCREEN OFF (oh, the irony :D) that you can watch here:

Clive From Accounts is finally back on Dirt Crew Recordings! After some excellent contributions and remixes for the highly acclaimed New York based “Razor-N-Tape” imprint, he graced us again with three new gems that show the great diversity in his productions. Since his first “Cooking the Books EP” in 2021 and the follow up “Pearls EP” in 2022 he has continued to build a strong following of fans, so we know for sure a lot of you have been waiting on new tracks by him.

The uplifting opener “That Rhythm” is a smooth deep house roller with chopped up dusty samples, inspired by the US and French masters but with a heavy UK sub bass added. Following up is the wonderfully crafted “Maceo”, a groovy instrumental jazz funk workout built around the genius of The JBs legends Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker. 

Closing out this new EP is the acid laden and also title track “Clive by Night”, deep and lush house music that we love him for since his first release on our label, here he’s finding joy in deep evolving repetition, it’s an ode to the 303 and Xpander. Best played at night. 

Get in these 3 new hitters from Clive now, we are looking forward to hear these played out in dark clubs and wide open fields this late summer and golden fall. Enjoy!

Cody Currie & Kapote together in the studio! Delivering a 4 track EP that connects proto-disco, neo soul, Chicago house beats and jazz funk in a very spontaneous, super catchy way.
Cody, the London multi-talent musician, and Kapote, the Berlin-based creative head of Toy Tonics have a lot in common. Both come from studying jazz, knowing different instruments, having played in bands, and at the same time being DJs with a huge passion and the skill to rock thousands of people every weekend at the Toy Tonics Jams with a wild mix of different music. They have what we call THE VIBE. Soulful, catchy, intense. When they play records at a party and when they work on tracks. Both play keyboards, bass, guitar, and drums. Both sing. And both have funny nicknames that journalists gave them: Cody Currie was called “the Tom Misch of House music” and Kapote the “Wes Anderson of electronic music”. Makes us laugh but also fits well. And yes: Both are a bit crazy... like every extremely talented musician.
