No better way than to start things off with one of the most long awaited, exciting sets we've been lucky to witness recently. Ricci (@riccimm ) is a dear friend, notorious for his incredibly low key but mind-blowing dj abilities. We were so so happy to host his comeback set after 2+ years in the club. It was total euphoria from beginning to end. Classy, refined non-stop bangers.  We hope you. enjoy just as much as we did!

Have you ever heard Daniel - the person with the kindest heart - playing tracks? It’s all about fun, wrapped in an impeccable taste that will take you from Cumbia to Dembow, to the universe of the many dubs and the alternative outskirts of indie.

I hope this finds you well, and well, I hope this finds you. Apologies for the extended hiatus, I've been busy baking my brain. Alas, I return with an exceptional offering from the sonic god aka Ricci aka The godson of Naarm aka the holy one aka the DJ’s DJ aka the BPM prophet, the list goes on and on. Heading in a very alt route this time around, instead of seeing him behind the decks we’re taking a glimpse of what’s behind his eyes… A beautifully romanticised chaoticness, strewn together with the delicate thread of the unknown, resulting in one of the most fascinating ambient canvases that I've ever wrapped my ears around. A complex musical mosaic of thought-out sounds, shapes, and textures, a full introspective layered with an incredible amount of detail, the closest thing you’ll get to a reverse lobotomy. Take a few deep breaths in and out before pushing play on this one, perfect for a sunrise or a sunset.

Repping an oft overlooked Swiss techno contingent comes the next guest in Bassiani’s podcast series. Basel born and raised Garçon is one of the most promising names to call the bucolic town on the shores of the Rhine his home. He got an early start, mixing from the age of 14 and booked a mere two years later, assiduously cobbling together influences in his early work and soon delivering performances city-wide. First those at Hinterhof (now closed) and then those at local staple Elysia. With musical collaborator Agonis he’s also fired up techno label Amenthia Recordings, an agar dish for like-minded Basel music makers. His own sonic experiments are a purely live affair, and that’s no bad thing. Garçon’s escapades, from Waking Life to Barcelona’s Parallel have honed his voice and made of him an adept hand when faced with the strenuous demands of modulating crowd energy. Nodding to a range of influences across the electronic map he harbours a superlative talent for finding niche sounds at the fringes of common scope. Enter Podcast 208: towering, no-bullshit sounds, an hour of ghostly, mechanical whispers and powerful basslines, earth-shaking and infinitesimally precise techno from this connoisseur selector.

Peter Zherebtsov is a music producer from Russia and we welcome him for our next instalment to our podcast series and delivers us #038. His music is defined by many different influences and characterised by minimal sounds with an emphasis on experimental and deep rhythmic grooves . In his works he emphasises a catchy rhythm and atmospheric component, which gives the listener a mesmerising, dark and dissonant picture as a whole.

Alastair is the man behind Lempuyang, a UK-based label established in 2021 and deeply focused on dub techno sounds.

Among other artists, Ranges co-founder Roberto aka Hydergine first made an appearance on LPY-03, as part of a split release with Steve O'Sullivan under his Bluetrain alias. Hydergine is due to feature again this November on lempuyang's 3rd year anniversary compilation, alongside some seriously heavyweight names in the deep/dub techno realm. 

Lempuyang and Ranges labels are quite related in their sound palette. Testament to Roberto & Alastair's shared tastes, no less than 11 different artists have released material through both Ranges & Lempuyang.
