A mix of tracks I had been collecting very seriously, and spent a lot of time getting them to flow and feel right, about a year ago. A few were found whilst listening to Pete Tongs show on I Player in the work van. Apple Car Play. When one gets your attention, screen shot on the phone, as it displays the artist and track name even when plugged into car play, then all of a sudden, it's easy to go through your photos and purchase them forever. (Then forget and disregard them as they are not physical things anymore)!

I miss the purchase of vinyl but you can't deny the quality and precision of mixing in ableton live on the APC40 with wav. files and, being able to iron out any imperfections within the recording to make it perfectly as you wanted it to be whilst playing.(whilst keeping the vibe of the live mix you performed)
Technology is amazing and needs to be embraced but never forget your roots.

Old Skool DJs went through vinyl and practiced hard to make mixes work on whatever decks you could afford.(Gemini XL100 in my case) I used to go as far as editing the start points for each track on a mix Id recorded into the old family PC and maybe adjust overall level. That was quite an effort for a young bedroom DJ making CDs for his pals.
Some hell of a lot of passion and dedication had to be put into this artform which I feel is lost now. Its still alive but different.
Still cant beat the feel of two records in mix that you remember buying, remember the artwork on the sleeve, remembering where and when it was purchased, remembering the name of it so well and which other records it will mix with. So personal, they become part of you. your treasures.
I feel sorry for DJs who will never go through that.
I respect and embrace the modern age, hence the digital mix provided, as its still thriving, but man, Its so disposable.
