Next one in our OYE Podcast series is our regular customer Katharina aka Kat Davids. Her beautiful mix moves between deep and dub house. It has a dreamy and light structure, it flows… Including some all-time classics this is a must listen piece of music.

Berlin based DJ & Producer Kat Davids' selections are inspired by the depth of Detroit, Body-High Dub house, Deep house and Dub techno. Whether holding a tight atmosphere at a club or letting loose at festivals - always striving to allow people to lose oneself in a musical journey for a night.

With an intimate space that feels raw and honest, Kats’ music is characterized by her own vocals, field recordings, playful percussions and driving bass lines. Her releases “dust” on Intercept Records, the single “Haunted” on Tresor Records, and a collaboration track with Cecilia Tosh on the Nachtdigital Vinyl LP, will be followed by her debut Vinyl EP in 2025.

She has played at some well-known institutions such as Tresor, Watergate, Revier Südost, ELSE Club, Weltspiele Hannover and toured in Latin America and South Africa with diverse DJ gigs and DJ Workshops. Since her LIVE Set debut at Berghain / Säule 2024, she had LIVE appearances at festivals like Nachtdigital.

Since November 2022, she has hosted her own regular show on the well-established THF Radio Berlin, featuring over 50 guests ranging from newcomers to legends. In the summer of 2022, she also founded the FLINTA* collective V.A. Femme* with the aim of fostering mutual support and providing a space to learn and exchange musically.

Perhaps most known for his work as half of techno outfit Cassegrain, Istanbul native Hüseyin Evirgen has been active as solo artist since 2016 and making a name in his own right. His early classical training has taken a broader form in more recent years, a mashup of inspirations with strong mathematical current where simple ideas culminate in more complex and exponential compositions. Under the name Magna Pia, and adjunct label Arcing Seas his hulking techno has taken shape, and the imprint’s proven a platform for the publishing of his own work, Cassegrain’s and that of a small number of his close collaborators. His driving beats offer powerful and provocative moments mixed in with a clever spin on ambient that’s recognizable from a mile off, and constantly pushing what’s possible in sound to new and unforeseen heights. His 2019 album Daiauna was a return to roots record that incorporated his earlier training as piano player with the fluid electronics developed since, foraging too from his keen instinct for primal rhythms and high-brow symbolism. In the end it’s deeply physical, and proof of techno’s staying power as a medium for dance and social change. Bassiani Podcast 27 covers all these bases and more, an honest and striking addition to a body of work in constant flux. 4/4 magic from a true master.

Fabrizio Lapiana is an italian DJ, producer and a founder of Attic Music, based in Rome. He started his career as a Dj back in 1994, influenced mainly by the early 90's sound of Rome and Detroit . His dj sets are characterised by his incorporation of the old school aesthetic into his club-based material, that makes his approach kind of unique.

Fluidly moving from ambient/drone to techno and dub, Lapiana's mix for Bassiani is a 115-minute excursion into the mind-bending textures, that allows the artist to share his favourite tracks from varying areas of sonic world and quality dance music.
