q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?

> It was inspired by these strange, trying times we're living through. One year ago the pandemic hit and life changed drastically.
As a result, my mood, and thus the music I chose to listen to, also changed. Ambient music became my go to to both decompress and focus on working while at home every day, all day.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

> My kids, Eleanor and August, and a photo of my late beloved son, Xavier.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

> I used to draw a lot as a kid, and I recently bought supplies to start that up again. I'm mainly focusing on landscapes using colored pencils or pen and ink. Also, I'm in the beginning stages of planning to start a record label.

This compilation is a sonic insight into the community formed around the Alkisah festival, spinning further outside of the Alkisah framework by seeking resonant sounds released by the network of labels after the Alkisah release and festival took place. This sonic journey is built on raw and harsh authenticity, improvisation, off-grid music, heavy bass, and ritualistic chants. Oriental Grooves

This set is an hommage to the deep house music and jungle vibes experienced in Tulum. It's a mix of downtempo and organic house tracks flowing into each other to create the relaxed rhytmic dance vibe found in the Tulum music scene. Inspired by and featuring artists like Bedouin, Oliver Koletzki, Rampa, Solidmind.

The fourth episode is inspired by “The Missing Eye”, a photobook by @mattiaparodi and @piergiorgio_sorgetti published by @witty_books (2021). The book holds their research around the photographic device and its visual projections which aren’t deduced from our immediate experience of
reality but are the results of the combination of different cognitive paths in which all senses participate with sight. We put together a sound collage where the pioneers of electronic music and the hypnotic voice of @ginevrashay are combined together to stimulate all the senses. The synthesizers elevate this episode into a realm of its own where we let ourselves guided by words about textures and citrus. An ode to dreams and memories.

@publishing.station a meeting point between music and photography, a publishing experiment capable of combining paper and people, a station to connect different disciplines, a series of episodes that talk about photo books.
