The first Episode of the Shivercast Series is contributed by our good friend Eugenia @eugeniadj . She hails from the coastlines of California, but currently traces her roots in the picturesque city of Bologna, IT.

It's a trip - starting of with some lo-fi ravy sounds, afterwards getting more trippy but also showing of some darker wave influences & ultimately upping the tempo - ending in a smooth Jungle/DnB finale!

While we are struggling to find the right words to describe this awsome mix put together by her, she never fails in choosing the right words when it comes to writing. Her words & poems are fascinating and show her talent for different kinds of art.

Besides her love for sweaty & intense club feelings she is definitely a head of the healing sounds. She runs the radio show “The Shape of Memory,” a monthly transmission via Ghunghru that airs on Boxout.fm, a radio station based in New Dehli. The concept behind it is stunning - connecting words, feelings, memories & music together in a new spehere of art.

Touch of Class Records is proud to present “Once Upon A Time” an EP recorded by producer, vocalist, DJ, Navid Izadi. Hailing from San Francisco, Navid Izadi makes it an art to combine multiple influences in his music, his earlier experiences constantly resonating through his productions. Here he brings us a two-part track, with remixes by Tone of Arc and Kenneth Scott. Recorded in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco, this EP is the imprints fourth release, heralding the musical qualities that the label stays true to: a combination of sophisticated and eclectic rhythms executed with style and poise.

Part one of the original track is laid down with a moogy bass line and met with classic 808 style percussion textures mixed with provocative vocals and laughter about a night out-- taking us on a groovy ride through the colorful and transient streets of San Francisco. Part two evolves from a sexy and playful escapade to a stripped back, dreamy after-thought with the sounds of a xylophone in the background and Tone of Arc delivers a 303 bass line remix that electrifies. Kenneth Scott’s remix delivers an early 90s vibe taking it back similar to the classic sound of The Orb’s Little Fluffy Clouds Cumulonimbus Mix by Pal joey. The entire EP embodies a family affair with contributions by all San Francisco bred artists.

This last year was a big one for Izadi with releases on Wolf & Lamb & Soul Clap Records, but his creative output doesn’t stop there. Besides performing live, Dj’ing and producing quality tracks, Navid Izadi has done vocals featured on tracks alongside Deniz Kurtel, Soul Clap, Signal Flow, and close friends PillowTalk.

After a brief wander ‘round the garden, Chilean-born Ricardo Tobar returns to the ESP Institute bearing earthly delights. With 2017’s 'Liturgia', he introduced his creative point of view — instantly substantiating a sense of rhythm that was deliberately complex yet slightly rough around the edges, while touching upon his musical origins from the guitar-driven corners of psychedelia — however with his debut 2xLP 'Continuidad', he leaves us gobsmacked and seeking shelter as he leaps from dancefloor comforts and descends into absolute chaos (in more ways than one). Emotionally, the artist has crossed all previously self-imposed and subconscious thresholds, putting his true imagination on display and exposing an unwavering attraction to all things loud, orgasmic and transcendent. He’s not subtly hinting at a fetish, but opening his arms wide with conviction, abandoning genre taboos and personally inviting everyone to join his enchanted caravan. Sonically, his appetite for intensity is clear throughout — epic chord changes, ascending peaks in arrangement, accumulating layers of grit that build into impenetrable blankets of distortion and feedback — a kind of aural hedonism that translates visually into the potent video abstractions our Mario Hugo has summoned for the album’s packaging. The first single surrounding the 'Continuidad' album is 'Birds (Continuación)', a glorious extension of the album track that conjures imagery of shaman-led rainforest exploration and illustrates the artist’s affinity for Latin-American percussion. The flipside is an exclusive non-album cut 'La Venida Del Mar', a bonafide big room thumper that carries all the rave seasonings we’ve come to crave from Tobar.

There was a low end rumble as the music began to trickle downstairs and into the basement. Gathered in the cellar there was a small crowd, amidst the fog and dust they began to dance in time with the flurries of percussion and the twinge of electronics which echoed deep into the night. They would be here for a long time, a unit inspired by the deep, sophisticated roar of each element. Their feet would move in time, back and forth, again and again. 

Flippen Disks is a new record label to emerge from Amsterdam, the imprint is run by Monty who also appears on the debut EP. He delivers one solo track and one collaborative effort alongside PTDD for a release which is distinguished and intelligent. The EP features forward thinking percussion and danceable material whilst is also hugely listenable and unique. 

This one is special.

PREMIERE: PTDD & MONTY - Tamboe [Flippen Disks]

In the fitness studio a lycra-clad, sweat band-adorned crowd readied themselves to sweat away the stresses of the day. In single file they made their way into the room, greeted by the loud vibrations reverbarating from the speakers in each corner. The windows of the room slowly began to cloud up as bodies began to writhe around the room, losing control in time to the rhythms of the music. There was never any clock watching during these sessions, this was a different kind of work out.

The second instalment of the Sameheads’ bi-annual compilation series puts the spotlight on the artists who frequent the Berlin-based "bar/club/playground/space/collective/cult/whatever’s musical mavericks". The EP features tracks from An-i, Franz Scala, Alexander Arpeggio & Marlene Stark, Epsilove & Ohlandy, Anklepants and Umlaut! who deliver a bunch of oddball bangers.

A white bench stood perched on the clifftop, a perfect viewing point to take in the sea and sky ahead. This was his favourite place to be with his thoughts. Aside from the winds that whispered softly overhead, there was only silence. Total peace. It had yet to be discovered by the keen dog walkers and family picnicers, but nothing remained untapped forever. For now though, it would be his little secret. 

Next up on Never Ready Records release schedule is the first long player from Deep Sky Objects (DSO), the moniker of Stillcold Records founder Andrew Doubek and Alexander Dennis aka Eprom & one half of Shades. Having first met in 2005, their long running dialogue led to an EP in 2011 on Doubek's label and spawned their DSO project, which has been slowly coming to life over the last 10 years. The result is their self-titled LP that explores the duo's shared love of astronomy, Detroit techno, UK rave and soundsystem culture, through densely layered rhythms, broken bass, pulsating drum work and analogue synths.

PREMIERE: Deep Sky Objects - In Lux [Never Ready Records]

There was a playful sense of experimentation in the lab that day. Some watched with eager glee at the prospect that something might pop, bang or explode at any given moment whilst others were slightly more hesitant. This was a day in which they would practise abstract chemistry, a day that teachers dreaded with power and might for the risk that a pupil might set fire to the building and bring it all tumbling down. Those who were mischievous relished in the wild notion of the experiments and lived for the fallout to come. 

Aubrey is a longstanding UK based producer who has released a prominent back catalogue across many years. Dream Diary is a collective of producers and dj's with a passion for electronic music. Brixton based the label is a certified authority on the best in the genre. This latest EP is a beautiful assortment of delicate dubbed out textures and wild soundscapes. A real treat.
