There is no roadmap, just as there is no genre. Before was fun and important, but it was only one of the preludes. After four shows, we now come to my personal core of this musical cosmos. It becomes electronic. Synthesis and synthesizers. drum machines and vocoders. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. electrified!

Welcome back. Still not sunk? Today will help, with a special program about magnetic tapes, noise and ingenious dilettantism - Kassettentäter - A special scene from the underground, because since the mid-1970s it was possible to record and release music from every child's room and every basement. Since that time, portable cassette recorders and four-track devices were available everywhere affordably in West Germany. Tapes!
Frank APunkt Schneider describes in his book "Als die Welt noch unterging" quite aptly the cassette scene as "the hyperactive child of the NDW era". The whole book is also highly recommended in other respects.

Spass Am Untergang [Kassettentäter]

Welcome back after a little break. The last show was a cassette special. Again i'm not sticking to any particular sub-genre, but have picked up another musical medium. Only 7inch records are played. Nevertheless, I tried to find a line through the hour. Musically it goes in the direction of Synthpop/Wave; made in Switzerland, Austria or Germany as always. Also I was not very strict with the thematic selection, so that current releases are also heard. good music is just good music . Have fun.

Spass Am Untergang [7inch Spezial]

This was a different show. I had the human encyclopedia next to me when it comes to German language music. We had a little chat love during the last lockdowns, as it was often not possible to meet. He directly felt like co-designing a show and the topic was clear quite fast, since we had already often talked about it. This time it goes in the direction of dub and reggae influenced music, but also about early Proto-Rap made in Austria, Switzerland or Germany. We just pressed record and see what happens. The result is a 3h madness and luckily Sphere Radio played along that we were allowed to broadcast it completely. Without blahblah, just musik. I feel like this is also a good time to pause the show for an undetermined amount of time. But enough words. Thanks Beda , for sharing the wheels. Always a pleasure.

Ciao everyone! It's been a while.
Years of record collecting went by but I definitely missed a point there, sharing.

I decided to share some nice stuff that's resting in my crates for some time by releasing a mix every month. For the first one I put together a selection of mostly slightly odd but lovely German disco tracks pimped with some Czech and Romanian tunes in between. Better expect some cover versions as well. 😅

So let's get this started. 🚀

Here are two hours of Austropop in all facets from  the record collection of @Stirnband. In his own words: "Vinyl only with one exception: The second track in the intro is the title track of the 1982 debut film Niki Lists "Malaria" aka "Café Malaria", which I happen to see at the beginning of the 90s in Karlsruhe's Schauburg in the presence of the director. Colourful cocktails of various subcultures of the New Wave time get their Schmäh here and arouse my interest for the first time in the peculiarity of the Austrian New Wave in film and music (but it takes until the re-release in 2007 on DVD until I will see the film again). It's also this Schmäh that holds together the eclectic genre term "Austropop" consisting of New Wave, Space Rock, Liedermacher, Poprap, Wiener Blutrausch, Discofunk, Parody and Grotesque.

Curva Imposible is a gathering in Barcelona that explores the most enigmatic margins of music in unique spaces.

The latest event featured local and international acts like Bejota Nova, Lato A, Pedro D. Sáiz, ML, Tomaga, Ron V/D, Don The Tiger, Estades, Andre Pahl & Alicia Carrera, Heap and Rabih Beaini.

The Mystic Room is the place thought for mental relaxation where any sonic oddities could happen - for this occasion, secret guest André Pahl and I played the last slot, acompanied by the nicest crowd.

Big thanks to André Pahl, all the listeners that accompanied us along the journey, to Meri Bonastre, Vir and all the artists and friends involved.
