Soundbursts: A Compilation of Jams

Figured since I don't use my SoundCloud all that seriously ( at least not yet ) I'm just gonna dump random pieces of music I make! XD This one's an experiment on string arrangements, arranging Finnish power metal band Stratovarius' Stratosphere from their 1996 album Episode.

An idea I made a few days back from one of the more underappreciated songs from what is probably Stratovarius' worst album. It may be the only gem there. The whole song uses the same melody, so this would sound alright when looped.

Been listening to an awful lot of Baroque music recently. Tried to compose a fugue based solely on what I heard, so this is technically not a fugue by procedural standards and only something that sounds like it.

In other words, it's a poser fugue. Sorry, Bach.

I love this show, it's got some great characters, entertaining stories, just the right amount of absurdity and a lot of heart. It's also got a wonderful soundtrack, courtesy of the talented duo of Aivi & Surasshu, whose jazz piano + chiptune style has some interesting parallels to my own metal + orchestra approach. So here's my tribute to the wonderful music of Steven Universe, a 12 minute whirlwind tour of Steven's world done in my usual Symphonic Metal style. Translating some of this music led me in some rather odd directions, but I had a lot of fun doing this :)

A Symphonic Metal Tribute To Steven Universe

"Experiment 5" was a previously composed track (and submitted here as well) on piano (hand-crafted with FL Studio's FL Keys). A few weeks after that, I started arranging percussion for it.

Many months later on a sleepless night, I finished it, and here's the end product - piano turned badass thanks to badass percussion.

Rumaragasa - a Filipino word, usually used to describe stormy, raging waters.

It's my first time to arrange percussion, to be honest. I still can't believe i was able to do this.

A piece made for two pianists. Done on FL Studio, painstakingly composed with the mouse - a 24-hour oneshot. This is my first piano composition for duet piano :) In retrospect, it might not be that playable in real life ha ha ha

I made this composition for IS 121.7 - Music: Rudiments Of Music in the Ateneo de Manila University. Unlike all my compositions online, this time around, I actually performed the lead part instead of leaving it to MIDI playback.

I was asked to compose a sort of jingle for class. It could be about anything, from product advertisements to political candidate jingles, but why would I waste a chance on not promoting one of the tastiest snacks ever with low bass voice harmonies?

Probably the spiritual successor to Mashed Potato or something ...
