'Movement Gallery’ by Colorado-based artist HÉRISSÉ showcases a meticulous balance between traditional string instrumentation and more modern elements. In contrast to the noise-heavy releases of the previous year, this ambient offering provides an introspective sonic experience, inviting listeners to explore the depths of their own emotions through the resonance of strings.

At its core, 'Movement Gallery' is a musical experiment that seeks to redefine the listener's perception of conventional instrumentation, specifically focusing on the expressive power of string instruments, the human voice and properties of 'experimentalism'. OOH-sounds family members more eaze, pardo & glass join forces on a celestial album linking ambient neo-folk, fractured electronics and romantic escapism.

Referencing to Wim Wenders' 1984 road-movie drama masterpiece, ‘paris paris, texas texas’ is a strikingly cinematic tapestry of americana, resampled guitars, glistening electronics, subtle field recordings and processed vocals.

The beginnings of this project date back to the summer of 2022 when pardo and glass started recording some improvisations in a small studio with the aim of making an experimental guitar record. Over time, the drafts developed into mesmerizing slabs of guitar textures, simultaneously immense and intimate. No material was better suited for more eaze to add to the recordings her transversal and sensitive approach, linking the past and the present.

Ranging from gentle ambient folk to winding pedal steel passages, from twinkling electronics to distorted drones, ‘paris paris, texas texas’ is an album that’s not just “atmospheric”, it conjures its own unique atmosphere from thin air. Like a snake shedding its skin, the record slowly mutates from track to track - an epiphany, a transformation, a tangible and perceptible moment. Despite its distant trans- Atlantic origins, it evokes a warmth and intimacy that is hard to deny, an emotion that has perhaps been held back for too long. A landmark release in OOH’s catalogue, capturing the magic of its curation and sensibility in one sublime record.

Gavin Vanaelst, also known as DJ Charme (formerly recognized as Kassett), produces electronic music that varies from bombastic ambient compositions to lofty rhythmic cuts. In the past he has collaborated with notable artists like Dntel, Golin, Lauren Auder and Zwangere Guy. His debut album 'Charme' in 2018 received support from renowned international labels such as Warp. After a brief period of silence, DJ Charme returned in October with his second full-length album, 'Hartenjagen', followed now by the 5-track extended play 'Starling', which marks his debut on Slagwerk.

"Moving to Dublin from Philadelphia five years ago marked the beginning of the Julia Louise Knifefist project; a character with its essence in blending experimental forms of noise, gabber and breakcore with dance music elements and a memorable stage presence.

With its transatlantic roots in the DIY culture of both Philadelphia and Dublin, Julia takes inspiration from harsh noise and extreme performances – like that of Death Grips who he counts as an influence – taking the very visceral elements of extreme music and making them more digestible. 

As the co-head of collective Bitten Twice, Julia has provided an important outlet for experimental electronics in Ireland, collaborating regularly with the strong community of artists that are currently blooming in Dublin, such as Rory Sweeney and E The Artist, all of whom perform together regularly. 


Julia’s forthcoming release – Valley – begins with the glitchy jungle and breakcore of ‘Venom’; Julia blends punk and hardcore aesthetics with threatening basslines and breakbeat, pushing the DIY sound of contemporaries such as JPEGMafia and Paris Texas to its absolute limits.

Both ‘Black Magic’ and ‘What Then’ have a strong focus on experimental gabber – moments of nightmarish melody lie between unapologetic, in-your-face kicks that threaten to burst into flames, before the fuck-trance dreamscape of ‘Hands To Heal’ guides the listener over the clouds and into Julia’s own world, mixing cloud-rap influences with the future-facing aesthetics of artists like Yung Lean and Vargt2m to create something instantly distinctive as his own.
