The composition of sea water is almost the same as that of the human body. That’s why it is said that sea is the origin of life. We all come from sea. I believe all humans have a shared nostalgia for a long-forgotten primal era: the smells, the sounds and the air that once covered earth. I want to try to resurrect these latent memories by collecting audio-based expressions of this nostalgia from artists all over the world into a compilation, as a kind of experiment.

despite being precisely painted with a dense, mutated, biomechanical sound design it still maintains a fleshy, emotional narration constantly jumping from abstract neoperreo to uplifting trance, from disintegrating samples to pop melodies and from dark, posthuman eclectism to comforting guilty pleasure.

jeremixyz is all about decay and fluidity so each of the two singles got its remix.
Yvu aka Yan Higa (based in São Paulo) built a spacious soundscape that sounds like it was torn from the heart of H. R. Giger (🕯️).
julek ploski aka Juliek Płoski (that’s me xd) built a bombastic epic collage story marrying trance with a tavern dance.

The 40th release of katharsis is the EP “Life is Hard” by Malle Voss coming out on April 10th. Following up on his debut release “Death is Easy” on Blue Tapes from 2022, the artist expands his musical pilgrimage into pure and spiritual affection in chaotic and dark territory. By using emotion in a structural way, the 6 tracks portray deep truths of overcoming struggle and turning nonsense into meaning. The tracks work like dark botanical angel artifacts, each with its rituals and prayers of death motivation and enlightenment through hardship. The range of sentiments covers everything from both beauty and joy to aggression and ecstasy, in its messy-by-design style of maximalist minimalism.
