Cam Robertson’s unique, thought leading take on nu-disco, reinvents the way that French House can be used to set a room alight. The founder of Paris is Burning, the radio show, the party, the empire, always has one finger in the action, always being the first to introduce to NZ exclusive silky cuts from his esteemed network of friends around the world including the likes of Bag Raiders, Miami Horror and Flight Facilities. It’s this distinctive approach referencing all things disco that ensures his sound is as classic as his looks. And we’re not the only ones to take notice, with Cam often being asked to play in Sydney at the infamous Hugo’s on Sundays with good mates Dangerous Dan, the Bang Gang boys, MC Double D, Jonny Pow!, Cassian.. The list goes on. It needs no explanation then that our favourite Batman like figure can party hard while dropping disco bombs on unsuspecting civilians. 

Cam has supported pretty much anyone who means something from Public Enemy, Cut Copy, Kaskade, Joey Negro, Ajax, so anytime anywhere he uses his mixture of super powers, timeless style and looks (and sometimes his mystical musical prowess) to get girls gyrating and Guido’s fist pumping.

Two music making, tea drinking, boys from the Shire…

A galaxy of cricketing cult heroes, has-beens and never-wills will band together in a new online cricket commentary “dream team” dubbed The Alternative Commentary Collective.

The ACC will provide ball-by-ball commentary and uninformed analysis to Kiwi cricket fans around the world on our Radio Sport Extra stream on iHeartRadio. The team will reside in a retro caravan on the boundary rope at the upcoming one-day international cricket matches between New Zealand and India.

Captained by Grafton club cricketer Jeremy Wells and Beige Brigade founder Mike Lane, The ACC will make its debut in Napier on Sunday 19 January. Other contributors to The ACC include documentary maker Leigh Hart, stuntman Matt Heath, beard cultivator Ben Hurley, rhythmic gymnast Jason Hoyte, and Beige Brigade co-founder Paul Ford.

Jeremy Wells says he is stoked with the line-up. “I hand-picked some of the best and worst cricket brains in the country for this ultimate commentary dream team – some of us have actually been to India too. I know for a fact that since Bryan Waddle, Jeremy Coney and Erv McSweeney heard about The ACC they've been trawling the Trade & Exchange in cold sweats looking for new employment options.”

Mike Lane says The ACC was an initiative “by the fans and for the fans” and would provide relevant match details and progress, but also a less serious outlook on the game and life in general. “This is potentially the largest gathering of backyard cricketers and non-former players ever to commentate a cricket series in the world. It will deliver a lot of eccentric observations, a crapload of informality and hopefully a few laughs. Someone will probably be offended too.”
