2 Billion Beats are Manchester based DJs and producers Tom Lonsborough and Col Hamilton.  Signed to Paper Recordings in 2011 they have gone on to deliver remixes and originals to an array of international labels such 3am, Stoneyboy, Finish Team and Deep Site. DJs such as Ralph Myerz, Justin Robertson, Aeroplane, Tensnake, Horse Meat Disco, Eric Duncan, Fingerman and Danny Krivit have been turned on with tracks such as 'The Moodymann' and 'Noise In Your Eye’ which are regarded by some as modern club classics. 

Their remit is tight disco and house influenced grooves created with a love for live recordings of real instruments and synthesiser hardware in a writing process that involves multiple reworks, samples and chaotic collaboration. 

For their debut album 'Be Nice To Each Other’ 2 Billion Beats have hooked up with vocalists Marietta Smith and Dieter Lynch to take the production and songwriting up a notch ready for entry in to the big league. From dance floor bangers to full blown hands-in-the-air anthems and super deep tech-house to 80s inspired nu-disco nodders, the album packs a punch as it's songs flow seamlessly from one to the next, designed to be a listened to as a whole as it bleeds together for a soundtrack to the best night of your life.

In an increasingly uncertain world the album comments on the grind of life in an ever morphing, media controlled world and asks the question ‘are we just able to just be nice to each other?’. Stephan Bodzin: a classically trained musician, vastly experienced producer and master of melody. He has built a reputation through countless releases under many aliases, and through his dramatic and dynamic live set capturing the hearts of fans worldwide. For Afterlife, Bodzin bottles the infectious energy of these shows into two epic, colourful landscapes of sound, “Strand” and “Catamaran”.

Following his first contribution to the label in September - a mesmerising remix of Tale Of Us & Vaal’s ‘Monument’ - “Strand” elevates this fitting relationship to the next level. The release contains a true anthem from Bodzin’s and Tale Of Us’ sets in ‘Strand’ and a more restrained effort in ‘Catamaran’. Both dream-like compositions are unmistakably Bodzin, taking the listener on a journey and brimming with the synth wizardry he is best known for.

@roam-recordings kicks off 2018 with a new release from its boss @jpsoul. After a big year of releases on labels such as @neinrecords, @emerald-and-doreen-rec, @logicalrecords, @meant, and Whiskey Disco JP Soul returns to Roam with two new dance floor originals that form the Bacchanal EP. The title track ‘Bacchanal’ is an Italo-Disco infused jam with an energetic synth groove backing a decadent vocal. The second original, ‘Might as Well’, is a low slung gritty chugger with a bit of funk and a lot of attitude.
The Bacchanal EP comes with a top notch cast of outstanding remixers. Up first is @hardwaybros aka Sean Johnston of A Love from Outer Space who adds a dark edge to ‘Bacchanal’ with a grinding heavy energy perfect for a big system. Italian legend @inflagranti brings a playful electro touch to ‘Bacchanal’ that can slip in easily to a variety of sets. Rounding out the EP is Argentinian artist @thomassjackson who delivers a wild west psychedelic guitar laden version of ‘Might as Well’.
All five tracks come together to form a unique and versatile EP that follows the Roam mantra - somewhere between disco and techno...a little left of center and always for the dance floor.

Jet Hammer is Valencia's Nacho Marco (Loudeast Rec, Om, Pacha,…) and singer Garen Moreno from LA. They met at a very fancy cocktailparty on Rodeo Drive last year and after two bottles of Dom Pérignon they went to a friend´s studio and composed "She Knows" and "The Sound" straight away. They sent them to King DJ at Regalia the following day, who didn't have to think long and signed'em immediately.

"She Knows" is a very laid back electropop jam that takes influence from pioneers like Depeche Mode as well as from more modern stuff like perhaps Hot Chip f.e. Garen's voice is velvetty soft and has a very soothing quality. It's music, Jim. "The Sound" is even more relaxed and the perfect aftersummer soundtrack. It sort of reminds us of The Style Council's "Long Hot Summer", with its TR-808 kickin' away gently as if it's decided to behave like sundaymorning surf at low tide. Hot.

On remix duty, first we've got Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca. Daniele doesn't need an introduction, we presume. This legendary dj invented what many often call the cosmic sound, and was resident dj at the legendary Italian club of the same name. DJ Rocca (Ajello, Erodiscoteque, Crimea X,…) is not exactly a newcomer either. Check out these guys' full CD Podalirius on Nang if you haven't already, 'cause it's truly a masterpiece, as is this remix, an exquisite italic electrogroove making good use of the great vocals. Very classy, and exactly up to the high standard we would expect from these guys.

Further more, there's labelboss King DJ himself, cutting up the vocals to deliver a moody, warm and organic discomix for The Sound. And then there's the deep and techy classic club house remix by Eddie Torres. We don't know much about him, except that he's supposed to be part of a triplet, hails from East L.A. and has been a very close friend to King DJ for quite some time.

Regalia Recordings is stepping up to the plate with this one, that's safe to say.
