Vardae is a project with the ambition of breaking away from the genre barrier, to explore new sounds territory around the love of psychedelic music. 

Vardae reveals a truly auditory adventure with Mind Spectrum, the sixth release on our label. His EP includes four tracks, each with its own distinct energy and character. Opening with ‘Thoughts,‘ Vardae sets a calm and profound tone, showcasing his exceptional minimalistic sound design. ‘Body Entrance‘ the second track, promises an intense experience with its otherworldly textures that crawl under the skin. ‘Loose It,‘ the third track, is an instant classic inspired by the free party vibe, destined to ignite dance floors. The EP ends with a flourish as ‘Feel the Grass‘ a fast paced, very deep, and mystical track, serves as the perfect finale. 

In its entirety, Mind Spectrum‘ escalates in tempo, providing a climactic journey and encapsulating the story of an entire night.

In his new mini-album, Viner explores the colonial history of Central Asia. He protests against nostalgia for the "great past" of the USSR and imperialist tendencies, deeply ingrained in the consciousness of the older generation that largely defines the current politics of the region. Being clearly against and tired of the same-old-same-old tales of how marvelous the past was, Viner in his 'Navro'z' calls to question these concepts, examines the anxieties of the present, and explores the possibilities of the future. The title itself hints at a new chapter of post-Soviet countries’ history.

In Zoroastrian tradition, Navro’z is a festival of spring and a symbol of a new beginning, a new life. People who celebrate Navro'z believe that the more good you do on this day, the luckier the year will be. And it's about time we all have a lucky year, for a change.

Meticulous work with composition has turned this dance album into a true blockbuster. Viner, a master of unexpected turns, switches gears from ample emotional moments to fantastic intense choreography of Central Asian rhythms. Epic scenes alternate with harsh slaps and yells, as if reflecting the unstable psyche of the author, who transitions from almost childlike calmness (hello "Boards of Canada") to difficult-to-control rage.

If we go post-colonial, we go full speed and unravel the similarities in the music of the oppressed. Uzbek vocals by Turgan Alimatov, monotonously repeating “nova", sound like a reminder of possible freedom from the metropolis; Asian drums of Naubat sound distinctly Central African. In G'azab feat. Wulffluw XCIV, Uzbek instruments [doyra, kairok, surnai, thunderous qurnai] sound like a potent mix of Paris vogue ball and footwork of the backstreets of Chicago — unabashedly delving into a multi-layered concept without losing its dance dynamics.

As an Asian Russian artist in exile, Viner, through his own experience, has realized that the personal is political and now challenges the widespread escapist belief that music — or any form of art, for that matter — is apolitical. By blending seemingly unmixable music styles, Viner hopes we can navigate the rapids of decolonization smoothly and without violence.

Raw, minimal, and complex, this 3-track debut from South Africa-based producer Tactix melds experimental and transcendent techno elements. It kicks off with “Dance Girl”, a driving, uptempo workout that blends hypnotic atmospherics with hyperactive breakbeats. The unexpectedly deep and murky title track, “Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt 404”, lays down textured beats and dry synthetic ambiance, creating a tense, trippy atmosphere. Hailing from Laon in northern France and residing in Berlin, Hugo Bouvet aka Claude B graces the Doglandiya roster with his selection of tantalising techno. Five songs spanning a playful yet sincere spectrum, Hugo’s productions fit the Doglandiya fantasy comfortably. His style has a quiet confidence exerted through warm psychedelic low ends bedazzled with peculiar percussions. From minimalistic and off-kilter to pushing feelings of adventure and embarking on mystical quests, the infectious joy of Claude B’s work is pure and fun. 

I asked Hugo what animal he feels the most connected to as a sort of emblem. Perhaps I was projecting a little when I felt he would go for something four legged. His answer was perfect though. Without hesitation he says a crayfish because “it drops its structure, becomes fluid but very vulnerable, then grows again”. It’s a nice sentiment to remember when listening to his music.
