With their early productions rooted in the harder styles of dance music, duo Mac & Ward have been turning their hands to a slightly gentler pace of sound over the last few years, carving out infectious house music bombs after being picked up by Shadow Child, and his Food Music label. On the ‘I Go Up’ EP, the guys serve up a trio of tracks for the Street Tracks label.

Lead track ‘I Go Up’ bangs like the best of them, as techno-centric stabs punch incessantly over an industrious rhythm, a female vocal cutting through the slammin’ production that’s the perfect house/techno hybrid. ‘Particles’ straddles the fence of progressive house and trance with aplomb, as subtle synth melodies glide over a pacey groove, whilst ‘Resist It’ comes good with a chugging and robotic tone that's injected with vocal hits and snappy FX.

The Frank DeWulf-esque stabs and swagger from this tune have already had many "ID?” requests from people since airing on Rinse FM and a DJmag social media video over the last few weeks and months. Posthuman has taken his sound to a fresh area which is complimented by remixes by none other than Luke Vibert, with an ice-cool swung-groove, Black Girl/White Girl with a full on pounding Techno workout and on the digital package, newcomers Mac & Ward do the big room House thing to perfection! In addition we’ve included “Find Me On The Edge of Town”.. an acid-kissed piece of Techno which sits the cherry ontop of an awesome release for us on Food.

Having both grown up on dance music, and figuring the use of decks from an early age, both Mac & Ward turned their hand to production. The duo worked together for close to 10 years on the harder dance styles of music, before turning their hand to the house/techno scene. After years of focus and hard work they were finally recognised and picked up by the mighty Shadow Child, which saw a debut release on his Food Music imprint. This was debuted by Danny Howard on his coveted Radio 1 show. Since then the duo have featured on a host of global record labels, receiving support from major radio outlets and DJs, and had music included on compilation albums such as Fabric and Toolroom.
