The Confessions of a Dance Floor Junkie series is based on my love for varying degrees of the "groove". The "Groove" to me is how a piece of music asks me to move and  the mixes created from this list capture the essence of my desire for variation in the groove. I want every track to ask me to move in a different way evoking both a unique and stimulating physical and emotive response. Confessions encapsulates my love for the pure hedonism of dance and dance music and I hope that the music within can evoke the same or even different positive responses in others. Look out for mixes to be posted soon and keep an eye on the archive as it will be continually updated. 'Black Hole' is back! The remix package of Craig Connelly and Christina Novelli's uplifting summer Trance anthem features the incredible production talent of Blake Jarrell and Jorn Van Deynhoven and is out now on Beatport via Garuda Music.

A set favorite amongst top DJs worldwide, 'Black Hole' shot straight to the No. 1 spot on Beatport's Trance chart and into the top 40 overall with John O'Callaghan even quoting it as his Tune Of The Summer. Just as popular as its soundtrack, the official music video featuring Novelli and Connelly has received almost a quarter million views to date. You can watch the music video below. Now with the solicited help of Jorn van Deynhoven and Blake Jarrell, the already contender for Trance track of the year has received a breath of fresh air in the form of two diverse remixes. 
Jorn van Deynhoven's remix scored 'Future Favorite' on ASOT631, as well as being personally selected to feature on Disc 2 of Universal Religion 7 by Armin van Buuren himself. Van Deynhovens mix has also been supported globally by John O'Callaghan, Aly & Fila (Wonder of the Week on FSOE EP307), Bryan Kearney, Mark Sherry, Greg Downey plus many more.
For the second remix, American producer Blake Jarrell takes 'Black Hole' a darker direction balancing the track's Trancey breakdowns with grindy big room beats and bass lines and ethereal lulls, with a touch of cerebral progressive sensibilities. The grittier of the two mixes has also been making its rounds on the circuit, seeing radio support from Gareth Emery and Super8 & Tab.

Dear All,

I am very excited to share with you the first single from my forthcoming #EDM album on @Armadamusic. This song, a collaboration with Arty and Nadia, began several years ago in demo form when I emailed a rough track to Nadia. After several months of riffing back and forth on lyrical notes and counterpoint lines, I began the lengthy and arduous task of comping together a meaningful and poignant vocal. I often compare this process to pointillism in art. It takes an extraordinary amount of time, but in the end when it's worth it, it's well worth it.

This track then sat on my proverbial studio shelf for about 18months. During this time, one of the myriad of pieces I was composing was a 6/4 64 bpm orchestral composition that had these protracted movements of cello, vibraphone, metalaphone and handbells. It occurred to me, somewhere I think I have a vocal, in a related key and tempo / signature. I dug around on the server and bingo...dorian it was. Nadia's vocal was a near perfect fit and worked amazingly with some of the orchestral and small instrument (TBU style) orchestration.

Enter...Arty. At this time Arty and I had been talking over DM on Twitter about collaborating on a track together. I sent him both the vocal and orchestral things we'd written and he sent me back beautiful percolating and driving percussion, an incredible undulating tresillo ostinato synth line and a beautiful drop.

This part of the process began to culminate during this summer. As I was beginning to dig in to Trevor Wisharts brilliant new version of CDP. For those of you that don't know, CDP is a command based DSP programing language that calls opcodes and commands in either OSX terminal or DOS. I've been using it in both for many years but this track is the first time I've really gotten my hands dirty so to speak, on something as prominent as a vocal and Nadia's provided the perfect clay. After about 100+ hours of pure sound design, spectral blurring..distort repeating and the epic PSOW and modify brassage, you can hear the results of these sonic transformations throughout "Must be the Love", most notably at the very beginning. I for one have never heard anything like this.

More than anything, this is a beautiful and simple song that speaks directly to me, and I hope to you as well. After all, music is first and foremost a language to speak the unspoken directly from breathing life form to breathing life form.

Kicking us off, we have progressive/deep house master (and no stranger here at Nueva!) 
Arthur Deep's smooth, loungey remix of Dunkan's 'Love Story' to groove to.  
Stan Kolev brings his remixing A-game to give a spectacularly moody remix of 
E-Spectro's 'Choice (feat. Escenda)'. From the successful 'Montreal' remix EP, 
producer Scotty Sunday provides a classic progressive take on Ilya Malyeuv's original. 
If you missed it the first time around, you'll definitely want to check out the 
well-toured and released artist Matan Caspi, and his classic groovy progressive 
remix of Eddy Good's 'Analysis Paralysis'.  Industry veteran Charlie May brings 
the futuristic tech in his remix of Matao's Perfectro, followed by the driving

If the first half got you moving in your chair, the second half will knock your socks
off! Skylight's 'Daylight' remix of Evave's original is a gorgeous web of melodies,
followed up by PROFF's debut with Nueva with his glittering remix of the Flash 
Brother's 'Mokka' track. Jayeson Andel's 'Bokeh' is a picture-perfect progressive 
track that rocks as hard as any peak time track could! Flash Brothers' 'Mokka' just 
seem to inspire amazing remixes, so we couldn't resist including a second one, this 
one from Michael Cassette. Taking a deep dive, Kenneth Thomas brings us spiraling 
through the clouds with cooler prog stabs in his remix of Hazem Beltagui's 
'Into The Blue'.  Zack Roth's 'Leaving Dancefloor' remix of Ilya Malyeuv's original 
is a blend of frenzied rush atmospheric goodness that takes the breath away.
Wrapping up the last couple tracks (sorry, we couldn't resist!) is Blake Jarell's 
feel-good remix of prolific artist Nigel Good's 'Come Home' track. Artedo & Max 
Meyer's 'You Are My Universe' is a swirling and huge progressive trance hit, and 
finally we close out with PM Attitude's original mix 'Evolva'. If this tech-y 
futuristic progressive masterpiece doesn't shoot you into outer space, you may need

Time is nearly ripe for the brand new Aly & Fila album to reveal its musical jewels. The result of 2 years of hard work, ‘Quiet Storm’ is the long-awaited follow-up to the beloved ‘Rising Sun’ album. One of its early pre-tastes, is the warming ‘Mysteries Unfold’, featuring Sue McLaren.

The dust of the first single, ‘Running Out of Time’ feat. Chris Jones, has yet to settle, but Aly & Fila are more than ready for dance land to move to their new labour of love. ‘Quiet Storm’ brings 16 extraordinary  productions of Aly & Fila making, and the tender ‘Mysteries Unfold’ is one of them. 

Riding the calming voice of UK singer/songwriter Sue McLaren, the deep bass and warming melody will take you in, like sunrise at dawn.

Nueva Digital has just recently reached the three year anniversary mark, and what 
better way to celebrate than with yet another stellar release? 'Typhoon EP' [ND097] 
is here, spotlighting returning Russian progressive/atmospheric/deep/breaks artist 
to Nueva, Alfoa (aka Aleksey Loginov). From mixing on cassette tapes back in '98 to 
landing a residency on Pure.FM in 2010, Alfoa has shown persistence and passion in 
his music over the past decade and a half, and it shows.

The EP begins with German-resident producer LoQuai's rhythmic Breaks Remix of 
'Rivermoon'. The track's melodies and atmospheric arpeggios flutter around your 
eardrums like butterflies in the warm winds, and pay tribute to the breaks genre 
heartily. Alfoa's Original Mix brings on a subtler envisioning of the airy dreams 
and synth riffs that take you away with them into the blue.

'Glamour Punk Recordings' owner Moussa Clarke & fellow producer John Ashby present 
us with their electrifying Remix of 'Typhoon'. Hard hitting basslines, distorted 
sounds, and the full-on synth onslaught gives this track the edge to rock dancefloors.

Alfoa's 'Typhoon (Original Mix)' rounds the release out, once again smoothing the 
mood over with his telltale atmospherics and mixed with a hearty 'breaks' feel.
