floor lighter fluid; producers Danny, Boxer & D05, and DJ Macro & DJ Semo 
all make the cut, and here's why you need to take a listen.

Danny opens us up with 'Palms Will Shine (Original Mix)', a track that 
starts out with a suspend-filled melodic beat, and drops in a heavy dose 
of bass that fills out the bottom end going into the bridge. A quick 
'hands-up' style phrase soon breaks down into the classic progressive 
chord pluck breakdown, that foreshadows the inspirational chorus and 
following phrases.

Boxer & D05 bring us 'Sonic (Original Mix)', and trip into a harder 
progressive/trance feel that pounds away with a bass line that won't quit.  

Lastly, DJ Macro and DJ Semo present 'Summer Dream (Original Mix)', and 
extended,14 blissful mix that brings to mind the early Eric Prydz house-vibe 
in the beginning, and leads through into a breakdown, with piano riffs and 
exotic japanese flute tones that drop into a banging prog tune.

The 5th Encanta release comes from Vitodito & Soulforge. This isn't the first time the pair have got together and created some wonderful music, and we hope it's not the last. Collectively, with support from names such as Armin van Burren, Above & Beyond and Jaytech, it's easy to see that these guys are on to a winner!

As you'd expect, the original mix of 'Dreamer's Corner' is wonderfully melodic, sprinkled with summer vibes. This is perfect feel-good music, and is definitely going to put a smile on your face.

Ontario native Nigel Good has emerged in recent years as one of the most beloved talents on Silk's roster. The emotive (often euphoric) melodies, electro-tinged grooves, and ethereal textures in his tracks have captivated house, progressive, and trance progressive fans alike, as well as captured the attention of many globally renowned international DJs, from Above & Beyond to Porter Robinson. Thanks to the generous support of the international community, he has reached the top of the charts on Beatport on various occasions in both the Progressive House and Trance genres this past year.

With tremendous enthusiasm, Silk Royal presents "Nothing Out Here", Nigel's debut artist album. Spanning a variety of genres, this 12-track release showcases the full range of Nigel's talents. The cinematic "This Is Us" is a fitting opener; a gorgeous piano solo heralds a lush lead melody, floating atop a meaty progressive house groove. The triplet groove of "Flight" is a fresh rhythmic offering, and the melody and strings in this one are equally moving. Nigel enters darker territory with "The Edge", the first of several orchestral pieces on the album. The subsequent cut, "Nothing Out Here", is vintage Nigel: piercing strings and rapturous chords, as well as a summer-flavored guitar hook, provide enormous uplift to the listener. The second "half" of this composition can be heard in the subsequent track, "Something Out There"; all of the feel-good energy reaches its zenith in this one.

At the album's midway point, we are met by the lead single, "One Minus Space", an ironic nod to his previous hit, "Space Minus One". As per usual, Nigel blends acoustic and symphonic instrumentation with synthesized lead chords; the result is one of his most memorable arrangements to date. His drum and bass experiment "Fourth Wall" and his second album interlude, "Cine", further illustrate the diversity of sounds on the album. Centering on an irresistible vocal hook by rising Swedish artist Johnny Norberg, "There For You Now" is the most likely candidate to remain in your head after the first listen. Arguably the album's climactic track, "Discover" features soaring chords, punctuated by heavenly vocal samples (an artist signature). Rounding out the album, "The Balance Part 2" is a very welcome sequel to one of Nigel's most successful singles with Silk. Finally, "This Is It" pays homage to his previous hit "This Is Us"; this gorgeous, string-themed classical piece also brings Nigel's exhilarating and deeply poignant album to its conclusion.

One of the most promising talents to emerge in the modern progressive house scene is Nigel Good, whose work is always equal parts melodic beauty, soul, and technical precision. Prior to this EP, we have had the great privilege of releasing numerous remixes by Nigel -- from his Above & Beyond-supported remix of Johan Vilborg's "Altara" to the more recent Myon & Shane 54-featured remix of Aerosoul's "Time Is By Your Side". Yet, this latest release is truly unprecedented for Nigel in terms of quantity and quality: 3 brand new, original progressive cuts, in which he not only showcases his songwriting ability, but also his latest bleeding-edge sound design techniques. In consideration of the fact that Nigel has just become a permanent co-host of "Only Silk" radio, which has officially represented the music of Silk Digital since the label's inception, we could think of no better way to acknowledge this pivotal moment in the label's history than a truly inspired trifecta of tracks by the Canadian phenom.

"This Is You" is the first of two tracks on the release that feature the vocals of Sarah Clark. A cinematic introduction includes various piano riffs and filtered string sounds; make no mistake, this is an artist at the top of his game making a deliberately ambitious (and moving) opening statement to his EP. At the quarter turn, the main rhythm finally arrives -- refreshingly, it's a "triplet" beat, which lends the track a gallop-like cadence. Meanwhile, as the strings continue to ebb in and out, we are offered glimmers of Clark's gorgeous vocal, as disconnected words and phrases are ethereally rendered. In the main break, Nigel's poignant piano and euphoric, crescendoing chords join forces with Clark's vocal, to truly awe-inspiring effect.

The subsequent track, "Always Running", holds a special place in our hearts, as it's quite similar in arrangement to the great melodic progressive house anthems of yesteryear. More specifically, it features an almost achingly beautiful lead chord progression, reminiscent of the melancholy, yet uplifting melodic style of original label music Mango. The unique feature of Nigel's work is that he pays homage to these influences, while lending his tracks a modern dancefloor sensibility. In this song, the delicate chords are introduced early in a mini-break, followed by a few rapturous "teaser" vox by Clark. From this moment, the free-flowing strings and hyper-melodic lead chords guide the track along, evoking a "floating-on-air" sensation in the listener. As the track proceeds toward the main break, innovative rhythmic fills and reverses keep the beat fresh. We finally arrive at the main break, where Clark's angelic voice dominants the foreground, while the chords crescendo behind her. While the first half of the tune can fairly be described as a great "listening" or even "driving" tune, the drop that follows at this juncture is purely dancefloor-centered: intended, it would seem, not for an arena, but rather an intimate setting of close friends.

Finally, the EP closes with "The Balance", by far the most energetic and melodically "resonant" of the three cuts. It explosively jets out of the gate, with a gut-busting kick and snare pattern, as the chord progression begins to slowly trickle into the mix. Meanwhile, in the background, various side-chained pads tickle the ear and provide Nigel's quintessentially euphoric string texture. Soon thereafter, Nigel begins to splice in distorted, robotic vox effects, which tremolo in the stereo spectrum and enhance the groove, rather than interrupting it. In the main break, the filter automation on the lead chords gives the track a crescendoing, tidal power, as it propels once again into the drop.

Spring is in full bloom and here to bring you a great new summer vibe is August Rush's new EP "Astral". These two talented Russian artists also known by Alexander and Alexey Arkhangelsk have been making quite the name for themselves in the Progressive House as well as the Indie Dance/New Disco genre.
 
In their original mix of "Astral", August Rush eases us in with a deep kick followed by supporting claps, hi-hats, and a beautiful Rhodes synth. Once the plucks, lead synth and bass line kicks in you'll be in sublime summery heaven. This track is no doubt the essence of summer fun captured and compressed into an awesome 8 minute and 12 second musical journey.
 
Speaking of summer, not too long ago we had artist Nerutto release his own EP on Fuzzy Recordings titled "Then There Was Summer". He's back with us today with a stunning remix of Astral. Nerutto starts the track with a very strong kick and a subtle filtered/phased pad that later on progresses and really ties the track together. The overall sound design of all the synths, bass line, and percussion on Nerutto's remix is superb. Little things to take note and appreciate are the ambient sound of birds chirping in what sounds like a beautiful summery afternoon during the break of the track. As the break progresses and intensifies, a new catchy vocal sample/cut is introduced and carries the track into its final departure.
 
Here to chill things down a bit is a Deep House remix of "Astral" from Glittering Puzzle and Stanlie Diaz. These two have done a great job in taking the original track and slowing down the BPM to a steady 118 while keeping their own style and using retro sounding synths.
 
A perfect way to close off the EP is another original track from August Rush titled "Osho". This track is a beautiful, bright, and moving tune that will have you focusing on the brighter things in life. A truly uplifting and emotional piece executed perfectly.
