Following their impressive receptions at EDC, Hard Fest and most recently Palm Springs’ poolside festival Splash House, LA’s Bixel Boys are clearly on their way to becoming the next household name for underground bass-heavy house music. From their more tropical “Love Like This” to the heavier club riser “Black December”, the duo’s production diversity and unique voice stand far above the rest in their class. Up next on their seemingly endless release schedule is a remix for Golden Features’ “Tell Me”, featuring Nicole Millar.

The original’s moderate pace fits perfectly in a daytime lounge or rooftop set, but the recognizable Bixel twist brings it to a whole new level. The level we crave for at the club and festival main stage. Sidechained chords, industrial samples, and crushing 4-to-the-floor percussion go hand in hand with Nicole’s vocals. A true remix, the Boys' edit doesn’t diverge far from Golden Features’ structural intention and tonal inflection; it maintains the original's darkness and gait while successfully creating a festival-ready leviathan. Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell. 

The new Intec release welcomes Boris who is a Russian born and NYC based DJ whose Techno sound has been in high regard since he first appeared on Dubfires revered SCI+TEC imprint. Since that release Boris has featured on labels including Octopus, Tronic, Terminal M, Suara, Toolroom Trax, Phobiq, and his own Transmit Recordings. Having been a resident at nearly every major club in his home city of New York, including venues like Pacha, Crobar, and Roxy. Boris has also travelled the world playing headline DJ sets everywhere from Womb in Japan to Space in Ibiza. 

Underground starts with the crunch of a heavy kick drum that cuts through the rumble of the rolling bassline. Full throttle and packed with energy, the track has a dark mood and deep atmospherics. Taking its title from the twisted vocal sample, this is dancefloor focused Techno at its best. 

Go Bang is pushed forward by the offbeat stab of the lead pad that lifts the track with its explosive bursts. Textured vocals chopped into looped phrases combine with fast flowing hi-hats to create the tracks fast and furious groove. Intense and relentless, this Techno workout is perfect for peak time DJ plays. 

U Better has a raw sound packed with snare rolls and dramatic synths that are dark and sinister. Building with tension, the track focuses on a series of bass drops where each one is more gripping than the last. Thundering like a freight train, this track is guaranteed to blow the roof off in any Techno club!

One of the stars of the recent progressive house renaissance is assuredly Dmitry Molosh. The globe-trotting DJ and genre-defining producer has been making ever-larger waves for many years now largely through his rapier-sharp musical focus.

Making his debut on Hope Recordings after his incredible remix for Black 8 in 2016, Dmitry brings a lifetime of passion and the studio skills of someone twice his age to bare on double-header, Lonely Heart and 2702. The beauty of Dmitry’s music is in its elegance. Long drawn out passages of percussive foundation making way for glistening sonic waves which totally captivate you.

Lonely Heart is no exception, its melancholy charm becomes more clear with each blissful minute leaving you utterly spellbound; in the palm of his hands. 2702 is a much tougher sound. Gritty and driving, it pulverises the dancefloor into submission punctuated by Eastern wails and a woodblock melody. Dutch maestro Navar provides a spine-tingling remix of Lonely Heart, toughening up the groove and heading in a dubbier and esoteric direction.

About the Ep : 
Selador's 5th Birthday celebrations continue apace with the second of our trilogy of commemorative EPs featuring exclusive collaborations between some of the label's family of artists. 

Part 2 kicks off with the boss men Dave Seaman & Steve Parry who come together for the first time in the studio and as you’d expect, the result is pure Selador. ‘Repeat Offender’ carries all the hallmarks of the what you’ve come to expect from the label. Carefully crafted, contemporary club music with unwavering intent and a twinkle in it’s eye. 

Next come two pairings straight from the frontline of Berlin’s vibrant electronic community. First, Martin Eyerer & Namito join forces for ‘Durant’, a no-frills beast of a tune that operates with an intense efficiency. Lean and mean, a fine specimen. 

We follow that with a pairing that between them, already have 6 Selador releases under their belt and it’s time to make it seven as Florian Kruse & Justin Massei step up with ‘Norrsken‘. A pulsating prime time workout crafted to cause optimum damage on the dance floor. Don’t say we didn’t warn you! 

To round things off, two more artists who’ve been no strangers to the label throughout our first 5 years, our Manchester and French connections respectively, Simon JOBE and Antoine ‘Acumen’ Garcin. They combine for ‘Incontrolable’, a 9 minute futuristic odyssey as insubordinate as it’s title suggests. Dance music from outer space.

In the artist’s own words;

‘Space Phantasy’ is a journey to atone for demons to become the best version of yourself, even if everything around you is crumbling at your feet. It wasn't originally intended as a dancefloor song. I have tried to be as organic and minimalistic as possible in its production.

‘This Is The Time’ was the beginning of a change in both my sound and my life. I was listening to a lot of acid & Chicago, house, and in the end, the idea was to bring those influences and that classic sound to the present in a low bpm track, but with a very particular dancefloor pressure. With this track, I wanted to remind myself that it's always a good time to start from scratch and abandon a sad self, which only subtracts from your potential.

TAU label heads Adana Twins brings the tempo up a notch with a primed late-night, sweaty phat remix, huge hoover bass tones interject racing percussion, and main vocals samples for a futuristic blend of driving sonics. The duo shows off a distinct ability for carving in breaks into their tracks. Keeping things Techno-ish and consistent while adding touches of their breadth of influences.

Life & Death regulars Marvin & Guy gives the reworking a hazy and trippy desert, bringing a dreamlike feel while keeping things dancefloor-friendly.
The remix begins in the same spirit and captures the blissful allusions of its name Space Phantasy, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambiance, melodies, topped with a vocoded vocal hook.
