Alpenglow: Open Air Silent Disco

Performed at a Silent Storm-powered event

The dust has now finally settled from what can only be described as a 72-hour continuous floating electronic music festival aboard a massive cruise ship...  That party is called The Groove Cruise, and I was fortunately selected as the winner of their DJ contest for their 2014 Los Angeles cruise.  And it's been a busy month back home!  I apologize for the small delay on posting this, but sometimes good things are worth the wait.  :)

This is the second of my 2 sets that I played on board the ship.  I played this particular set in silence...  That is, until you put on your special set of wireless headphones and tuned-in to the music I was playing that was being broadcast to everyone in the room during a super fun Silent Disco.  The gentlemen at Rabbits Black, the online media partner for The Groove Cruise, gave this set a kind mention and a favorable review in their post-event write-up, and were also a promotional partner in presenting this particular arena of music on this night.  Big thanks to these guys on both counts!

What went down during this set?  Well, after a long and eventful day of pool parties and a killer beach party on Catalina Island with Erick Morillo, I felt it best to play a set of dance tracks that are tried and true for me in my sets... both in years past and currently.  Some of these tunes are classic, some are fresh, some are custom versions, some are my own productions, and all of them fall within the range of sounds that I love to incorporate in my sets.  I covered a little bit of musical ground in this set, and I'm happy to say that it was met with enjoyment and approval of those that were present to strap a pair of headphones on for this.  And now, I'm happy to share it with all of you.

Strangest thing about this set...  Out of habit, I often take my headphones off of one ear or both to reference the monitor speakers in the DJ booth, but since there were no speakers involved with this set, aside from the headphones, all I heard each time I instinctively took the earcup off my hear, all I would hear were people shoes squeaking on the floor as we all danced around.  :D  I had a great time playing this set, and I hope you enjoy it just as much.
