As the first artist of August, we have the London-based self-described genre and sound obsessive artist EKATA. She has built a reputation as a huge advocate for purist Electro and a creator of a dark and warped experience. Her sound best personifies ominous grooves and obvious sci-fi fixations which embody her carefully picked selections and the journey she takes you on. 

Her Electro shows on Netil Radio & Guest mixes with the legendary Bass Agenda, Dark Science Electro, Technoclub.net, Science Cult & Hilltown Disco to name a few, have turned the heads of some of the most respected and well-established artists of the underground scene.

EKATA is currently working on her debut E.P. She also has one track coming out In autumn this year on a VA by a label that is well renowned for Electro releases.

Catch her Netil radio show every fourth Thursday of the Month 2100-2300 (BST) where she Invites her favourite Electro producers onto the show.

This is a dedication to the dutch Transhumanism collective and especially to Wibo Lammerts, who tragically passed away this summer.

There’s:

Slaves of Sinus … who has developed his own awesome and special style like nobody else..
RXMode…his music always hits you directly in the face and if not, opens a hell of an atmosphere..
TFHats…his 242ish vocals beside great compositions I like so much because I always feel home listening to them..

Since I started again producing in 2020, Wibo has been a constant source of kindness and honesty at the same time. He liked the melody of Cosmodrome and got me back on my producers feet in no time with his constructive feedback and inspiration. Even after that, he regularly checked on me if i have new stuff, how my tracks are going along and our conversations soon went past being just about music.

He once told me that there is a dutch saying which roughly translated means that whoever gives good will meet good and that he lives by that. I think this is the best description for him.

Rest in peace, mate....

I basically threw all my files from Wibo and my transhumanism tracks into one playlist, sorted it after bpm and gave it a shot...roughly 3 hours later, I was really happy about the flow and decided to publish.
There may be one or two track repeats...really should have cleaned the setlist before getting into it but couldn't wait to drop those bomb objects…

GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started buying records and DJing in Dublin in 1996. He is a vinyl only DJ and record collector - Irish, currently based in London.
• He runs Warehouse Manifesto Records, having released two records in 2022:�- WMR001 is a limited edition picture disc featuring electro tracks released in digital format only previously on Bass Agenda Recordings�- WMR002 is also a picture disc with original material from Human Rebellion - the Inverted Universe ep.
• He curates the Warehouse Manifesto mix series which he started in 2021. Some of his guests to date include Umwelt, Ben Sims, Claude Young, Joey Beltram, Jensen Interceptor, Sync 24 and Alienata.

2022 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the genre as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. This was also a year in which I took a break from my show and handed DJing responsibilities over to DJ friends from around the world. Couldn't be happier with how the year turned out for the show. Bio & TL:

Generally preferring to remain anonymous as "Machine Ethics".

His music is mainly influenced by modern electro artists such as w1b0 or Umwelt but his
root influences go much more into both depth and width. He's listened to EBM, Industrial
and Electro Industrial for a long time before being hooked with modern Electro and IDM.
Andrew Weatherall and all his projects like "Two Lone Swordsmen" as well as Transparent
Sound and Plaid have also become a huge electronic influence.
When he's not listening to electronic or industrial music, He prefers "rebooting my system"
with Stoner Rock, Folk and Post Punk / Goth Rock.

He bought his first synthesizer and drum computer in 1999, a Yamaha SY 77 and a Boss DR202,
starting to experiment with them using Cubase and to record (mostly industrial) stuff that he'll
keep anonymous. However, in 2008, He got on a very antimaterialistic trip while moving from Berlin
to Leipzig, sold all his gear and just kept his acoustic guitar.

In 2020, he decided to start his Electro Project, embracing todays possibilities of producing and
distributing.

BassAgenda 231 New Music Round Up & Machine Ethics Mix

Today we present "Machine Ethics", a project that usually prefers to remain anonymous. 

Machine Ethics's music is mainly influenced by modern electro artists such as w1b0 or Umwelt but his root influences go much more into both depth and width. Machine Ethics listened to EBM, Industrial and Electro Industrial for a long time before being hooked with modern Electro and IDM.
Andrew Weatherall and all his projects like "Two Lone Swordsmen" as well as Transparent Sound and Plaid has also become a huge electronic influence.
When Machine Ethics is not listening to electronic or industrial music, he prefers "rebooting his system" with Stoner Rock, Folk and Post Punk / Goth Rock.
He bought his first synthesizer and drum computer in 1999, a Yamaha SY 77 and a Boss DR202, starting to experiment with them using Cubase and to record (mostly industrial) stuff that he'll also keep anonymous. However, in 2008, he got on a very antimaterialistic trip while moving from Berlin to Leipzig, sold all his gear and just kept his acoustic guitar.

In 2020, he has decided to start Electro Project, embracing todays possibilities of producing and distributing.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- There are some promising collaborations that might evolve in the future with Lectromagnetique, Ufaze / Slow Process and there are some plans to also work with singers to get some decent vocals in.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Hard to say....I'll always admire w1b0's music. I totally dig the melodies and structures that Captain Mustache creates....I'm a Bass Agenda supporter because it has become kind of a 
turning wheel in todays electro....but there are so much more...for example Body Musick from Colombia tickles my rusty EBM and Industrial nerves... 

What inspires you now to create music?

- My inner drive to create - especially music. Someone said once that music is the best paintress for emotions. And also you get a lot about the character of the person when you listen to the music, especially the more it gets out of genre conventions. For example Hardenberg from Cyber Domain - he's a very funny and quirky guy and you hear that also in his music.
