Soul Deep Digital & Kontrast are proud to announce the release of the Lost Control EP, which is now available on all major digital stores and streaming sites.  The Bristol-based producer returns to Soul Deep with another classic collection of blissful liquid beats.  With previous releases on Intrigue, Lockdown, and Soul Flex, continues to compile an impressive back catalog of tracks that highlights his skills at creating lush dance floor grooves.  The Lost Control EP further proves that his production prowess is only getting stronger over time.  

The release kicks off with the title track, “Lost Control,” with features wavering synth pads, snappy drums, a filtered Reese-sounding baseline, and soulful vocals.  “Reach” is up next and features classic breaks, echoing vocals, deep sub-basslines, and epic pads.  “Too Close” takes over next and is driven by uplifting piano keys, steady drums, Rhodes keys, and a rolling bassline.  To round out the EP, “Without Love,” demonstrates a more stripped down sound with squelchy mid-bass tones, and “Ember River,” which brings a bit of a heavier dancefloor vibe.  Overall, Kontrast brings the goods on this release and proves why he’s one to watch!!  Press play and lose control!

Codename: RCRDS favourite NonRev returns with ‘Dreamstep EP’, which provides another stunning snapshot of this burgeoning artists distinctive take on fast soul music.

‘The Mist Comes Across’ kicks things off with crunchy tech breaks contrasting with dreamy atmospheric flavours for a unique roller which works equally well on dancefloors and home systems.  ‘Immersive Experience’ does exactly what it says on the tin, drawing the listener away towards a deep world of beautiful pads and funky brass tones before ‘Sunshine’ takes us deeper into a dreamlike state with its haunting soundscapes and morphing leads.  

The EP closes with ‘Insightful’, where a blissful intro gives way to to climbing riffs and rolling breaks to bring this vibrant release to a stunning close.  This talented artist is sitting at the top of his game right now, and this release represents another outstanding chapter in the irrepressible rise of all things NonRev.

Subdue Audio drop their first VA, bringing an impressive 8 new artists to the label.

The label’s most ambitious release yet has something for everyone who likes to keep their BPMs above 170, making a strong statement of intent over the course of 13 tracks.

Drawing from the musical origins of the genre, the VA features numerous junglistic cuts adapted to various contexts. Che Mac’s Jungle Music boasts big amens to bigger 808s in keeping with classic sounds, whilst Sordid Affair’s Leaving makes use of a cerebral processed vocal chord progression, thick bassline, and an ethereal sample in a contemporary twist. The boundary between jungle and drum and bass is blurred further by Vansnatch on Into You; desire-filled vocals, a saturated bass, and syncopated drums blend a jungle arrangement with minimal sound design. 

Minimal flavours heavily persist across six other tracks on the release. Empt’s contribution is a combination of distorted bass and moody arpeggios and percussions. Concentrate by Gengs features a thunderous call and response bassline paired with stripped-back drums, whilst O/MEGA’s Elucidate revolves around an animated, saturated bassline and pitched vocal chops. Subdue Audio’s bold move to combine styles from across the spectrum is exemplified on Brasstax’s Stitch Up and Koto by Apom, as minimal elements are combined with jungle and jump up influences respectively. Even Jump Up stalwart Vital leans into a more rolling number with stripped back drums and selective sampling.

Other tracks lean further into the rich heritage of jump up - specifically, the fabled Bristol sound of the late ‘90s. Laney’s Ina Fiya brings big roller vibes to the VA, echoing back to the classic V Recordings and Full Cycle sound, whilst TLZ (UK) re-injects minimal energy into Back Again with Madrush MC taking charge on the vocal.

Fully expressing the diversity of the label, two liquid tracks are also featured. Edan and Berrow pair soft and graceful piano chords with a deep, resonant bassline on Always Tired, and ZER0STRATEGY closes the release with another beautiful liquid cut, No More Time To Waste. Organic, rolling drums, glistening vocalisations, and distorted organ arpeggios perfectly round out the release and offer a glimpse into the diverse and promising future of Subdue Audio.

Architecture Recordings welcomes back Cymatix for the release of his new heavyweight single - Ripper/Blackout. 

The cinematic intro to Ripper gives way to pounding bass lines and chunky beats that continually build throughout. With this track, Cymatix takes it back to the classic heavy style of Drum and Bass synonymous with the ARX sound. 

Blackout brings a steppier vibe to complement Ripper, fusing impactful breaks and deep subs with melodic stabs for pure dance floor energy.
