Back in 2019 me and my wife were traveling through South East Asia (and eventually got ‘stuck’ in Australia because of the world famous pandemic but that’s another story) and I recorded a bamboo water tumbler (if that’s the correct word for it) in Pam Bok near Pai in Thailand. I always wanted to use the sound of the tumbler (and the small creek it was standing in) but couldn’t find the right spot for it. Now I finally found use for it in this little meditative sounding ambient song. The title is a (rough) translation of how the locals call this bamboo bridge ([Boon] Kho Ku Sui or Kho Ku So).

The reality of this pandemic outbreak is overwhelming..we are going to lose friends and family with this pandemic..brings me to tears thinking about it and can't believe it is happening..my uneasiness with this comes out in this piece..this is not a beautiful piece by any means  but a reflection of where I am emotionally locked in my house.  Maranatha!! and please pray for the victims and their families!!

So Near, So Far

This is the result of one of the jam sessions with Maxim Lichtenwald (@maxim-lichtenwald) and Leo Cuznetov. As per usual, the jam session took several hours, and we experimented with many sounds, settings and ideas. Since I've been listening a lot to Dark Ambient lately, I kinda steered the jam session in a more industrial setting and incorporated some glitch elements and several pre-recorded samples.
