Alex Banks "I put this mix together to mark the release of ‘Australia’, my collaboration with Sasha, and my debut for the LNOE label. Having not performed live much in the last couple of years due to the pandemic, I’ve got so many new tracks I’ve not played out yet, so I had a great time digging through my collection to take the listener on a journey from experimental electronica to driving techno. Alongside the Sasha collaboration, the mix features ‘Resurgence’ that I wrote for the LUZoSCURA project and a track from my forthcoming album ‘Projections’ out this August on Mesh."

Brighton-based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Banks is one of electronic music’s most forward-thinking underground stars. Once a devoted metal-head during his teenage years, Banks’ life changed when he attended his very first rave and had his eyes (and ears) opened to the world of dance music. Since then, the DJ has spent the last 10 years honing his craft, pushing back against the more sterile elements of the dance scene with his perfectly-imperfect productions. With his new album ‘Projections’ due to come out in August on Max Cooper’s Mesh imprint, Banks has put together an exclusive mix for Dummy.

“For this mix I’ve put together some of my favourite electronica, techno and breaks tracks from recent releases,” Alex says. “Alongside my latest singles ‘Recall Mindset’ and ‘Into the Realm’, it features new works from Max Cooper, Daniel Avery and Moderat. Starting off ambient and abstract, over the hour it builds in tempo and energy whilst keeping a foot in the atmospheric and epic. Perfect for putting on at the afters or for headphones listening on a long journey.”
