A rare mix of Terence's Theme that I'm convince was used from stems of the main theme given how some of the parts are identical but also help when one is trying to do the main theme.

Terence's Christmas Theme (Series 1)

A piano/orchestra arrangement of Edward's theme, with some excerpts from Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 16." --which is a piece of music I find Edward's theme to be very similar to.
Mike O'Donnell once said that Mozart was a considerable inspiration on the classic series Thomas music, and the piccolo trumpet led Edward's theme is no exception. 
Edward's theme lends itself very well to a classical style orchestration, as do many of the other themes.
