Ode To Wookery | Wook Out 2023

Nick Thompson (aka dicA) representing Up Records started learning to play Drum n Bass in the mid nineties in Oxford UK, the booming rave culture had him completely hooked after attending his first rave called Helter Skelter in the world's first purpose built and fully legal warehouse designed specifically for raves and after 4 years he returned to Australia and has been performing at, promoting and hosting events in Newcastle/Sydney and surrounding area's since 1999.  He has been seen as a backbone of the Australian Psychedelic Trance community and a mentor to many upcoming artists. His skill, performance energy and techniques has earned him many a fan both locally and worldwide. His act dicA has been on many events such as Subsonic, Psyfari, Regen, Sundae Fundaze, Craze, Bent Perception, New Cycle and many events all up and down the east coast of Australia.

His passion has been pushing him to extend his limits not only from the audio level but he is now exploring both the audio and visual levels of his performance by incorporating 3d projection mapping and has been performing his visual performances at many of the events mentioned before. He is competent in mixing on any decks and has performed using 5 or more decks seamlessly. After dedicating the last 23 years of his life to the Australian Psytrance and Drum n Bass scene by hosting events and helping teach many of the scenes psy and dnb DJ'S he is now focusing his DJ performances where he can watch everyone dance to his music with a birdseye view watching the continual evolution of doofs and psytrance in Australia.

Taking to the decks at a passionate 12yrs old, Notorious M.A.D (A.k.a Maddy) understands the complexities that make a track not only unique, but how they shine brightest when the context is right. Years of listening to and mixing electronic music has procured an intelligently fun nature behind her sets, plugging any time of day with exactly what you want to hear (and what you don’t realise you want to hear). Light at heart yet hard on the feet, Mads knows the most memorable kind of dancefloor is one you can’t park at.. the reason she’s been a staple diet for dancers of the West and beyond.

Mads is now equipped with some of WAs biggest festivals under her belt, in addition to supporting headlining acts; Freedom Fighters and Modus, Whiteno1se & Neelix, Atrix, Blazy and Dash Berlin.
