Over the last few years, singer-songwriter Madeline Finn has amassed a stunning catalog that illuminates life's emotional complexities. Her latest song, "Ohio," which was produced by Ben Cramer (Old Sea Brigade) and Owen Lewis (Phillip Phillips, Lady Gaga) no different. Sonically, the single is similar in tone to 2020's "The Whippoorwill," as the song pairs space-filled arrangements with cascading guitar lines, the occasional orchestral effect, and percussion that twinkles like a clear, starry night. However, as "Ohio" progresses, the song builds in volume and intensity—her voice grows stronger and boasts more conviction, in tandem with robust guitar strums—before subsiding gently into a wistful end.
