Drexilla - Overload

Ilya Bitekhtin, also known as illocanblo, is an electronic musician and party thrower who curates the Nenormalizm netlabel and makes Saint-Petersburg's IDM Nights possible. The artist has been releasing his incredible works at numerous record labels around the world.
This time he collaborated with Miami-based label ECU for his new album, which features a stunning collection of six original tracks and seventeen remixers from all around the world, making it a truly global collaboration of sound.

'Membranes' is a bleak, sad murmuring melody; a rare occasion of an instrumental electronic glitch that manages to squeeze a tear or two out of stone hearts, and surely all IDM lovers.

'Membranes' showcase the next installment of the artist 'Montage' we wish to cement his position as an underground niche prodigy, an enthusiast for a genre that is considered dead rather than alive. Disregarding this, Guillaume put up an album full of elegant well-balanced tunes built around the backbone of OG electronics from the era of 90’s titans (say Autechre, Biosphere, and even AFX).

With 'Membranes (cut in slice) Analept meticulously cuts the track into micro-samples, repitching each synth note to forge new, captivating melodies. The percussions are subtly enhanced, adding depth and texture to every beat. Crafted exclusively on the Octatrack, this process isn't just about making music; it's about exploring and reveling in the myriad of possibilities that sound can offer.
