Ste Essence has been involved in the music scene for over 25 years 1st playing to a full capacity club aged 15 at an event called Frequency at the dance factory in Digbeth. Since then he has been involved in many aspects of the industry from promoting & running events to producing music and of course DJing under various alias's. He has held residency's at Gatecrasher, Stupid Underground & classics night Back Once Again. He has also played at some other high profile events and festivals like Bloc Festival,  Eclectricity, Atomic Jam, We Love & Flashback and in house promotions at the custard factory with artists such as Sander Kleinenberg & 2manyDJ's to name a few. Other artists he has supported include the likes of D.Ramirez, Riton, Laidback Luke, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Ratpack, Slipmatt, Pendulum, Ms Dynamite, Professor Green, Mistajam and loads more. 

Since summer 2015 Ste has concentrated more on music production. He has been signed to Fidget Music and had several releases on the label, with his covers "Seek Bromance"  featuring Vicky Jackson making it to number 6 on the music week upfront club charts & My One Temptation with Sheena McHugh from  BBCs "The Voice" reaching number 4 on the music week upfront club chart. His remix of Corona's "Rhythm of the Night" made it to number 1 in the Hypeddit house charts sitting there for weeks but his tracks regularly hit the top 5. He has also has tracks released on labels such as Kidology, 418 Music & Carrillo music 1 of which made it to number 3 in the U.S Billboard dance charts.
His music has been supported by Artists such as James Hype, Lucas & Steve, Tough Love, Freejak, Judge Jules, John Gibbons, Paul Morrell, Tommy MC, Glen Horsborough, Stuart Ojelay, Tim Nilsson, Damon Hess, Justin Wilkes, Nicole Moudaber, Stonebridge, Mark Knight, Sander Kleinenberg, Graham Gold, Jim Shaft Ryan, slam & many many more. He has also been heard across radio stations like, Kiss FM, 1xtra, Gaydio, Electric, DanceRadioUK, Switch FM, BBC introducing, React radio, LDNFM, Groove Flow radio, BPM California, Capital FM amongst many others.

Vijay, whose real name is "Olivier" is the owner and producer behind the projects Vijay & Sofia but also Parallel, White Milk as well as TRIBU recently signed with ARMADA for 3 years.
Reaching over a million clicks per month on Soundcloud alone, his various projects reach enormous statistics for an underground artist.
Through official remixes for DAFT PUNK, MOBY, FEDER, CAMELPHAT, MOGUAI, HOOVERPHONIC and collaborations with artists like Vintage Culture, Rodriguez Jr, Camilo Franco, Chemical Surf, Nico Pusch to name a few as well as production for "THE VOICE" or to set to music reports for the famous "NEW YORK TIMES".
Vijay navigates between Dance-Floor, Nu-Disco, Deep-House, Afro-House, Melodic and Ethnic productions with a melodic line of his own that always manages to take you on a journey.

Vijay is also the originator of several unofficial remixes of artists like Asaf Avidan, Daft Punk, John Newman, Kiesza, Ben Howard, 2Pac, A$AP Rocky, Duke Dumont, Gabriel Rios, Buena Vista Social Club, Queen , Nicolas Jaar, and many others reaching several million plays and distributed for free on Soundcloud.

Since 2021, Vijay has become an ambassador for Ableton in the Walloon region and helps several young artists to carry out their musical projects.
And being a drummer originally, he also accompanies his performances with percussion shows.

Vijay is currently working on his new project "V&S", a new duo with which he will soon be on tour exploring new musical horizons.
